Responsibilities onboard:

Engine room watch keeper/duty engineer taking charge of the supervision of the engine room
spaces and operation of plant during my respective period of duty, generally the 12-4 watch or
12-6 watch, as required by the Chief and First Assistant Engineers.

To carry out maintenance, testing and repair tasks in particular to my own spheres of
responsibility which is Diesel Generator, Emergency generator, Breathing Apparatus Compressor,
Fuel Supply System, and Aux Boiler and its fittings. And responsible for monitoring stock levels
and recording the use of spare parts applicable to my particular machineries.

Supervising ratings as assistant watch keepers and when carrying out maintenance duties.

Assisting the Chief Engineer in the maintaining the computerised Planned Maintenance System.

Complying with, and ensuring that those working under them comply with, the Code of safe
Working Practices for Merchant Seamen.

Fulfils the role of vessel Safety Officer as defined in Safety Manual.

Have wide knowledge and skills on operation and maintenance of the following
machineries:

Air Compressors and Air Reservoirs

Air Condition Compressor
