Position Description Summary

Position Title and Grade:

Database Developer

I. 60% development work and 40% DBA work

Design, development and administration of Oracle databases.
Performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Oracle
databases.
Management and maintenance of back-ups & recovery
procedures.
Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and
client environments.
Reviewing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code.
Designing database packages and procedures.
Security and access control.
Provision of support and assistance to development team in the
design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of
database applications
Creation and maintenance of SQL queries and routines
Provisioning of (database) development and testing
environments.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g with production support
experience in a multi project environment.
Experience with Unix/Linux in a multi-domain environment
including basic commands and shell scripting.
Oracle performance and tuning skills including server
configuration and tracing facilities.
Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring
tools.
II. Ability to design solutions and accurately estimate level of
effort and completion dates
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent logical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3+ years programming experience
Experience working with Oracle 10g/11g
Ability to work well in a team environment where collaboration
and peer-support is critical
Knowledge on dot net, C#, SQL SERVER BI 2005/2008 will be
added advantage.

III. Critical Knowledge, Certifications & Competencies:

Any ORACLE Certifcation
OCA/OCP

Education: Btech/MSC/MCA
Experience in years:3 to 5 Years
