Thecircuitwepresentheregeneratesnegativeionsandcanbeusedinexperimentstodeterminetheireffects.Astheion
levelvariesaccordingtheusedcomponents,wedonotrecommendthatthereaderusethisprojectatahomeorbusiness
untilmakingaprecisemeasurementoftheamountofionsgeneratedbyit.
Thecircuitisbasicallyahighvoltagegeneratorthatproduces,viaanelectrode,aconstantfluxofnegativeions.Theseions
aredispersedintotheambientair,affectinglivingbeingsinthevicinity.
Inthecircuit,IC1aactsasalowfrequencyoscillatorthatdrivesabuffer(IC1b,c,andd)andapoweroutputtransistor.
Thetransistorhasasitsloadasmalltransformerthatgeneratesahighacvoltageofabout150V.
Thishighvoltageisappliedtoavoltagemultiplierthatproducesanoutputaboutof2kV.Thisvoltageisenoughtoproduce
aconstantfluxofionsthroughtheelectrodeX1.
Thecircuitispoweredfroma12Vsourceasanactodcconverterorabattery.Currentdraindependsonthecomponents
andtypicallyisbetween100and500mA.
