Modern European History:
The Industrial Revolution
CATHLEEN ELIZABETH BYRNE
DECEMBER 2014

Differentiated Instruction
This unit was created to provide students [with] multiple

options for taking in information, making sense of ideas

and expressing what they learn (Tomlinson, 1).
With that in mind, the following activities and assessment
were created to address each component:

Taking in Information: Choice Board Activity

Making Sense of Ideas: Class Discussion Activity (Role Play)
Expressing What They Learn: Project Based Learning Assessment

Ongoing Assessment
King and Chapman (2012) identify that educators should

continually be conducting ongoing assessment that takes

place before, during and after learning.
With that in mind the following assessments have been
created to evaluate student readiness, interests and
intelligences:

Before: Metacognitive Evaluation

During: Choice Board Activity
Class Discussion Activity (Role Play)
After: Project Based Learning Assessment
