Electric Current:

Concuctivity

- Ability to conduct electricity. (mohs or siemens ) Opposite of

resistivity

Resistivity - opposes the flow of electric current.

Magnetism:

Permeability

Ability to form magnetic field. Opposite of reluctance.

conductance
Reluctance - Magnetic resistance,

Magnetic

used in the analysis of magnetic

circuits.

Inductance Control change in current. Mutual induced with the surrounding

Susceptibility - ability to polarize in response to the field. Adjust in environment.
Retentivity Magnetic density (weber/sq.m)
Magnets:
1. Diamagnetism refers to materials that are not affected by a magnetic field.
2. Paramagnetism refers to materials like aluminum or platinum which become
magnetized in a magnetic field but their magnetism disappears when the field is
removed.
3. Ferromagnetism refers to materials (such as iron and nickel) that can retain their
magnetic properties when the magnetic field is removed.

Electric Field and Energy

Permitivity - the ability of a substance to store electrical energy in an electric field.

Capacitance charge storage. Control Change in voltage

Opposite: Reciprocal

Conductance Resistance
Susceptance Reactance
Admittance Impedance
Capacitance elastance

Reactance - the opposition of a circuit element to a change in current or voltage

Impedance - opposition that a circuit presents to a current when a voltage is applied.
