I am writing to apply for the positions open in Stories Creek Elementary. I graduated in
the Summer of 2014 with a degree in elementary education as well as a group major in
social studies.
I believe there is a genius in every student, whether it be from science to the arts. Every
child we meet excels in some aspect of life and has value. To bring out the genius in
each student, I will need to create a classroom environment that allows children to
comfortably become critical learners and active participants. As a part of my courses at
Alma, I have worked with 5th grade classrooms. In these classrooms I have developed
lessons, inquiry stations and have assisted students in every core subject, with great
success.
By working at summer camps throughout my life I have been able to connect, interact
and understand children at a new level. This connection has helped children gain
valuable skills. Working at these camps has made me excel in teaching, increase my
patience, communication, and really get a feel for what my future pertains.
I am looking forward to having my own classroom and all of the experiences,
challenges, and joys it will bring. Attached is a resume and details about courses I have
taken. I will be happy to provide any additional information in preparation for teaching.
