INTRODUCTION
This Healing Handbook provides practical teachings to help you understand biblical principles and how to apply them when ministering to the
sick and afflicted, with effective results.
Throughout the bible we have records of how God healed people in many
different ways and methods. The method is not the purpose of this handbook, but the motive.
It is the heart motive of the Lord Jesus that all be saved, healed and delivered, this is the object of Jesus coming, that all may recieve.
I have provided the following guidleines that will assist you when ministering to people.
Our salvation has been paid for already. We live on this side of the death
and resurection of Jesus Christ. Therefore, salvation, which includes healing and deliverance HAS been paid for in full through the precious Blood
of Jesus Christ, when he died upon the cross.
Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of
the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the
power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His
love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness
of sins. Colossians 1:12-14 (NKJV)
We can minister with this truth, that we are legally saved, healed and delivered already in Christ and as people appropriate this truth in faith, the
Power of the Holy Spirit brings transformation.
I believe that through this Healing Handbook you will continue the ministry of Jesus Christ to reach out to people and the anointing of the Holy
Spirit will flow from you as you minister in Jesus name.
All the Glory and Honour to Jesus Christ for his sacrifice and love to
redeem us, deliver us and translate us in to his Kingdom, now.

FIRST THINGS
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may
your whole SPIRIT, SOUL, AND BODY be preserved blameless at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
The Word of God says that we are Spirit, Soul and Body and it is
Gods will that each part be sanctified and blameless in Christ.
THE SPIRIT
People are a spirit being. Created in the likeness of God. Jesus said
that God is a Spirit John 4:24. So we are also a spirit.
It is your spirit that becomes a new creature in Christ Jesus. When
a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, their spirit
is born again and they have the life and nature of God living in their
Spirit.
Salvation:
Salvation is the rebirth of a persons spirit and is the most important.

Included in this handbook is a Salvation section thats teaches

you how to help a person to make a commitment to Jesus Christ and
receive eternal life.

Holy Spirit:
Every believer in Jesus Christ needs to be filled with overflowing in
the Power of the Holy Spirit to live a victorious life in Jesus Christ.
Included is a How to be filled with the Holy Spirit section that
will help you instruct people how to be filled with the Holy Spirit
and speak in tongues.
The infilling and continual flow of the power of the Holy Spirit is
paramount in helping a person remain strong through Gods Word
and healthy in the Lord.
THE SOUL
The Spirit and the Soul are different. The Soul is the personality,
mind, will and emotional area of our lives.
Our Souls do not change when our spirit is born again. We still have
the same thinking as before and we must be renewed in our minds so
we can live a successful life in Christ from our spirit.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the

renewing of your MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul
and Spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Soul is psyche; Psychological, the rational, reasoning; intellect or
sensual behaviours.
One of the greatest needs of believers is to have their minds renewed
with the Word of God. As peoples minds are renewed to the Word
of God, they will experience emotional wholeness and mental wellbeing.
THE BODY
The body is the PHYSICAL part of us that we live inside (earth suit)
until it dies and returns to dust , then we (Spirit/Soul) leave this physical body and will be with the Lord Jesus.
We live in this physical world in a physical body that is subject to the
sin of Adam that bought death and decay upon everything, including
the earth. The Kingdom of darkness, known as Satans dominion has
gained authority through Adams sin and has been oppressing humanity since Adams sin.
The scriptures teach that sin, sickness and death is the offspring of the
dominance of the powers of darkness over the world including people
and nations.
Jesus came to destroy the works and effects of Satan who has afflicted
peoples lives. Healing and deliverance is part of the plan of God to
bring restoration to peoples lives through his anointing.
Emotional & Mental:
Many physical conditions can be traced to the emotional and mental
condition which needs to be ministered to with the Word of God and
the Holy Spirits power, which will assist in the person receiving and
keeping physical healing or deliverance from evil spirits.

SECTION 1.

HOW TO HEAL THE SICK

1) PRE-PRAYER - YOUR PREPARATION

We must be ready all the time to be used of God to minister to the

sick and suffering. You may receive an emergency call for help and
there will be no time to prepare. So, we must live ready.
The preparation of our hearts is vital for effective results when
ministering to people. The objective is to see lives healed, delivered
and set free and God uses ordinary people who will believe and
become a yielded vessel. Surrender yourself to his anointing and
service.
There is no formula to how you walk with God, it is a personal walk
and he will lead you and speak to you so that you understand him.
There are some things that you can do daily that will help guide you
into a relationship for your spiritual renewal and strength.
1. Intimacy with the Lord Learn to walk with the Lord in the
Spirit, take time to talk and listen to him speak to you. Record
what he is saying to you and the more you learn to hear him the
easier it will become to minister to people.
2. Pray in the Spirit One of the keys to the Power of God in our
lives is to spend time praying in the spirit (tongues). This will
also increase our sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit when
ministering to people. 1 Corinthians 14:2 & 4, Jude 20
3. Meditation in Gods Word Spend time memorizing and meditating upon scriptures concerning healing and this will help you
to develop faith. Romans 10:17
4. Maintain a Spirit of Faith Prepare your heart with the Word
of God and prayer. Keep a heart of faith that is believing that the
Holy Spirit power will minister through you and bring healing
and deliverance. 2 Corinthians 4:13

2) PREPARING THEIR HEART

DIAGNOSIS
Ask the person what is their problem and if they have a
Doctors diagnosis.
Listen carefully to what the person is saying and what their problem is and address the problem, rather than the symptoms.

Once the person has explained their problem. Give them hope and
faith by telling them it is easy for the Lord to heal, no matter how
big the problem.

LOCATE THEIR FAITH

This is vital for their healing as they may be in doubt or fear.
You can tell what a person believes by what they are saying.

If they are saying what the situation is and all the Doctors reports
etc, then you need to encourage them with the Word of God and
help them get into faith before you pray for them.

If the person has any doubts or fears, then spend some time teaching the Word of God on healing and faith so they can have faith
rise in their hearts. Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing and
Hearing by the Word of God.

Help them to believe what the Word of God says, minister to their
spirit and plant seeds of faith and hope in their hearts.

Ask them what they believe God will do for them.

If they are ready to receive healing, then go ahead and minister to

them.

If they are not sure or still in doubt, then spend some more time
encouraging them with the Word of God.

Testimonies of healing are a great way to help bring faith.

Be sure they are ready to receive healing and they are in faith
before you minister healing.

If they need deliverance from evil spirits then follow the Deliverance guidelines.

3) PRACTICAL HEALING GUIDELINES

1. Do not minister to anyone of the opposite sex alone. There must
be more than three persons present.
2. Ask for permission to lay hands on the person before ministering
and if it is in a inappropriate area then have woman to woman or
man to man lay hands on them. You represent Jesus.
3. If the person has an infected area do not lay hands upon it, lay
your hands upon their head.
4. They can remain sitting or stand, this is up to them. If standing,
then have a catcher or you can hold them from falling on anything. Look for their healing not for the person to fall.
5. Use wisdom, sensitivity and good judgment when dealing with
people. Do not become emotional.
6. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and he will show how to minister
effectively and the flow in the gifts of the Spirit.
7. Believe the healing Power of God flows from the Holy Spirit in
you, into the person.
8. Be bold, exercise your faith and command in the authority of
Jesus name the sickness, oppression or spirit causing the sickness
to leave and be healed.
9. If more than one sickness, then deal with one at a time. There is
no need to rush, take time and minister effectively. We are after
results for them.
10. Jesus simply spoke in authority and released healing to people.
Do not pray long prayers that lead into unbelief. Speak words of
authority and healing to them.
11. You can pray in tongues while you minister, but without causing
confusion or fear to them. Use wisdom.
12. Once you have finished ministering, have a time of praise and
thanksgiving.

AFTER MINISTERING HEALING.

1. Encourage the person to put their faith into action. Test their
body. Example: If they had a back problem, have them bend over
and test their back.
2. If people still say it hurts. Ask the person how much of the pain
has gone. Important to look for the healing not the sickness, look
for the absence of pain, not the pain.
3. You can minister healing again, continue to exercise faith.
4. If there are no visible signs of healing, then encourage them to
continue believing the healing has started because the healing
power of God has gone into them. Many people have been healed
over a short period of time, when they remained in faith.
5. Encourage them to meditate upon the healing scriptures every day
and continue to thank God for healing and delivering them. Satan
will come to try to rob them of their healing and they must learn
to resist him with the Word of God.
SALVATION & HOLY SPIRIT
1. Ask if they are a committed Christian? If not, lead them in a
prayer to receive Jesus as their Lord. It is important that they
know what they are doing and the commitment they are about
to make to the Lord. This is not to join a club or just a random
decision, it is a forever commitment. Healing is part of salvation;
however it is imperative they are saved.
2. Ask if they are filled with the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? If
not, then explain to them about the infilling of the Holy Spirit and
then lead them in a prayer to be filled with the power of the Holy
Spirit. Follow the How to be Saved and Be Filled with the
Holy Spirit guidelines.
IMPORTANT
1. You are not a Doctor. Do not prescribe anything to them or tell
them to go off their medicine. Have their healing verified by a
Doctor.
2. We are not ministering any medical or scientific principles.
3. Healing the sick takes persistence and practice. Not everyone
you minister to may be healed at the beginning, so persevere and
obey the command of Jesus to heal the sick, your faith will grow
stronger.

4. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they
will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will
take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no
means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will
recover. Mark 16:17-18 (NKJV)
5. Learn about how faith works and how to minister in faith.
6. Be prepared spiritually before you minister. Spend time praying
in the Spirit, time in the Presence of God and meditating upon the
Word of God. This will help you to be sensitive to the leading of
the Holy Spirit.
7. Keep your heart and relationships right before God and people.
Sin in your life will block the flow of the power of God. (Read
Mark 11:22-25) The Power of God comes out from the Holy Spirit inside you and the closer you stand to them the more intense the
Power of God can become, use discretion.

4 ) FAITH ATMOSPHERE
BUILD FAITH IN THEIR HEART & THE MIRACLES WILL
HAPPEN.
We need to have an atmosphere of faith when healing the sick. Most
times you will need to spend some time building faith into the hearts
of people who are sick and suffering.
Jesus could not heal many people because of an atmosphere of unbelief, therefore his ministry was hindered by lack of faith and we also
face the same issues now.
And Jesus could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands
upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marveled because of
their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
Mark 6:5-6
To combat the unbelief, Jesus went around teaching the Word of God.
The way to build faith in peoples heart is through the Word of God.
Take some time prior to healing to teach and preach Gods Word to
the people.
Prepare scriptures concerning faith, healing and the promises of God
and then share these to help them have faith.
The Word of God destroys atmospheres of unbelief.

FAITH FOR SALVATION and HEALING

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:13-17
Faith for any of the promises of God comes by hearing and hearing
by the Word of God.
Whatever the need, you must prepare the heart of the person to receive before you minister healing.
Faith for salvation, healing and the Holy Spirit all comes by hearing
the Word of God concerning that area.
Faith for healing comes by teaching and preaching about healing from
the Word of God. Acts 8:4-8, 14:7-10
When the Word of God is preached, then faith comes to the hearer and
then you can minister healing and deliverance to them.
FAITH BRINGS THE POWER OF GOD
Therefore He who ministers the Spirit to you and works miracles
among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of
faith? Galatians 3:5 (NKJV)
Miracles happen because of the hearing of faith through the Word of
God and then this creates an atmosphere where the power of God can
flow.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of
God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also
for the Greek. Romans 1:16 (NKJV)
The Gospel of Christ brings faith and then it becomes the Power of
God for salvation, which includes physical healing.
THE PRINCIPLE:
The teaching and preaching of word of God first, then faith comes to
the hearers and faith acted on brings the miracle and healing.

5) HOW JESUS HEALED THE SICK

We will look at How healing was done by Jesus and the disciples
and discover how we can minister healing to people the same way.

Jesus and the disciples did several things; they laid hands on people
and spoke to the condition.

2. They shall speak with new tongues; (Baptism of the Holy Spirit)
3. They shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; (Immunity & Protection)
5. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Healing)
Jesus never began his ministry until he received the Holy Spirits
anointing and power. Believers need the Holy Spirits anointing and
power. Acts 1:8

6) FAITH COMMAND

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but
believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever
he says. Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

Jesus said SAY, SPEAK & TALK to the Mountain. He did not say to
Pray to the Mountain.
SAYING AND PRAYING ARE DIFFERENT.
PRAYING is asking God to do something. (Receiving from God)
SAYING is commanding something to do something. (Speaking to
sickness & demons)
Jesus and the disciples NEVER prayed for the sick. They spoke to
sickness in authority and commanded healing and deliverance.
SIMONS WIFES MOTHER
Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simons house. But Simons wifes mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request
of Him concerning her. So He stood over her and REBUKED THE
FEVER, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
Luke 4:38-39
Jesus rebuked Commanded the fever to leave her body. He spoke
words of authority.
Speak to diseases, sicknesses and demons command them to go in
the name of Jesus.
Speak with authority.

7) AUTHORITY IN JESUS NAME

AUTHORITY RELEASES THE POWER OF GOD.
Luke 4:36 and they were all amazed, and spake among themselves,
saying, What a word is this! for with AUTHORITY and POWER he
commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you AUTHORITY (Exouisa) to tread
on serpents and scorpions, and over all the POWER (Dunamis) of the
enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 9:1-2 then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them
POWER and AUTHORITY over all devils, and to cure diseases. And
he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
JESUS GAVE TWO THINGS TO HIS DISCIPLES.
1. AUTHORITY: Exousia (Delegated Authority)
2. POWER : Dunamis (Gods Ability, the Anointing)
The Power follows the command of authority.

Faith exercises the Authority and releases the Power of God.

Authority always goes before power manifests.
We speak in authority to the devil and the power of God drives out
the demon powers.
Jesus and the disciples exercised authority over sickness and demons.
We are to exercise authority over sickness and demons.
IN THE NAME OF JESUS
When we use the name of Jesus, we are speaking with the authority of Jesus. When we speak in that name, it has the same effect as if
Jesus were standing there speaking to the situation. He has given us
the right to use His name.
SIGNS FOLLOW THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS NAME
Mark 16:15-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe in my
name.
Jesus said, it is important that we believe in His name. We must
understand the authority that is ours in the name of Jesus. We must
boldly release that authority in faith when we use the name of Jesus.
When we boldly speak and act on our belief in the name of Jesus, we
will drive out demons. We will place our hands on sick people, and
they will get well.
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus said, All Authority is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.
When we use His name, authority and power is released. It is as
though we are standing in His place and using His authority.
When Jesus gave us the legal right to use His name, He placed His
up-most trust in our control. In legal terms, He gave us the Power of
Attorney to use His name.
DISCIPLES USED THE NAME OF JESUS
Then Peter said, Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I
give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
Acts 3:6
Peter explained that the key to using the name of Jesus was to release
the authority of the name of Jesus by faith.
Acts3:16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man
strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through
Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

As we listen to God and obey His voice, we must boldly step out and
by faith use the awesome authority of the name of Jesus. When we
do, we will experience signs and wonders in our daily life and ministry, like in the book of Acts.
As we continue to use the authority and power of the name of Jesus,
we too will shake our world with the presence and power of an awesome God.
The key for a victorious Christian life is found in the mighty name of
Jesus.
We can walk with the same power as described in the book of Acts,
when we begin to exercise the authority of the name of Jesus.
BE PERSISTENT
1. Step out in faith
2. Command in faith in the name of Jesus
3. Speak with authority
4. Expect them to recover

8) WAYS THAT GOD HEALS

There are many ways that God heals people and we only cover several
ways as how God will heal a person in response to their believing heart.

LAYING ON OF HANDS

JESUS LAID HANDS UPON THE SICK & DISEASED Law of

contact and transmission there will be a transference of Gods Healing Power when you lay hands on the sick and command them to be
healed in Jesus name.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall LAY HANDS on the sick, and they SHALL recover. Mark
16:17-18
Jesus lays hands on the sick Mark 1:40-42, Luke 4:40

ANOINTED WITH OIL

The OIL is symbolic of the ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Throughout the Bible, the Anointing with oil was required by God for
special purposes as it represented the Anointing (Power) of the Holy

Spirit. By FAITH we ANOINT the sick with OIL in Jesus name and
the LORD shall raise them up.
and they cast out many devils, and ANOINTED with OIL many that
were sick, and healed them. Mark 6:13
Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and
let them pray over him, ANOINTING them with OIL in the NAME
of the Lord, and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord
shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:14-15
Jesus disciples ANOINTED the sick with OIL and we should also
do this.

BREAKING OF BREAD - COMMUNION

Communion is to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross; he

saved us from sin, sickness and the power of the devil. We are free
and as we take communion we appropriate the promises of God that
we are healed and delivered.
For THIS REASON many are WEAK and SICK among you, and
many DIE. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may
not be condemned with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

GIFTS OF HEALING

It is a supernatural manifestation of HEALING POWER through

one individual to another BY the Holy Spirit The KEY to the Holy
Spirit operating the Gifts through your life is to be FULL of the
HOLY SPIRIT and FAITH
To another faith by the same Spirit, to another GIFTS (Anointing) of
HEALINGS by the same Spirit.1 Corinthians 12:9
Acts 6:8, 1 Corinthians 12:27-30 God initiates HEALING supernaturally at times and at other times in response to ones faith

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and WORKS MIRACLES
among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of

MIRACLES are CREATIVE : Hebrews 2:4, Acts 8:6, Acts 6:8, Mark
6:38-44,52, John 2:1-11

Miracles are the Activation of the Power of the Holy Spirit Creative
Anointing.

ANOINTED CLOTHS

God is no respecter of persons, the sending forth of CLOTHS by

FAITH is still in effect today.
You can pray over cloths and give them to people or send them to
people and the MIRACLE POWER of GOD will HEAL and DELIVER those who receive them in FAITH.
And God wrought special MIRACLES (Power) by the hands of Paul,
that from his body were brought unto the sick HANKERCHIEFS or
CLOTHS, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits
went out of them. Acts 19:11-12

WORDS OF FAITH

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart, but shall BELIEVE that those things which he SAYS shall come
to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAYS. Mark 11:23
JESUS is saying this to YOU - WHOSOEVER is YOU - WHOSOEVER is EVERYONE
There is a BIG difference between SAYING and PRAYING
YOU SHALL SAY to this MOUNTAIN (Sickness, disease, problem) Be REMOVED in the Name of Jesus and BELIEVE that those
THINGS (WORDS) that you SAY will come to pass, YOU SHALL
have whatever YOU SAY.

9) PERSONAL HEALING

Following are some bible principles involved in receiving healing

from the Lord Jesus Christ through an act of your own personal Faith.

1) MEDITATING UPON THE WORD OF GOD

Proverbs 4:20-23, Joshua 1:8.The bible says that as we keep the Word
of God in the following areas of our lives it will become health and

life to our flesh:

a. Give attention to the Word of God - We must put Gods Word first
place in our lives. Keep them in the midst of your heart. Jesus said
that the Word of God is like seed planted within your heart, which
will produce if you guard and protect it.
b. To put this into practice you must search the scriptures regarding
the promises of God to heal then begin to meditate upon it every day.
e.g. Psalms I 03:I-5.The bible says not to forget the benefits of the
Lord, healing is one of them.
2) PRAISING AND THANKING GOD
a. Romans 4:17-23 Abraham praised God before he ever received the
fulfillment of the promise of God. The bible said that Abraham was
strong in faith, being fully persuaded what God had promised he was
able to perform. Once you ask God for your healing according to the
promises of his Word, you then begin to praise and thank him for the
answer, even though you havent yet seen it.
b. Hebrews 6:12-15, Hebrews 10:35-36 We need to be patient once
we have released our faith in the promises of God. Patience is being
steadfast, unmovable and enduring. With the combination of our faith
and an unmovable stand on the promise of God, we will receive the
promise of God.
c. Hebrews 13:15 We are to offer up to God the sacrifice of praise,
continually.
3) PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT
a. I Corinthians 14:4 Praying in tongues will edify your inner man,
your spirit.
b. Jude:20 Our faith is built up as we pray in the Holy Ghost, we are
edified and become spiritually strong.
c. Romans 8:26-28 As we pray in partnership with the Holy Spirit, he
makes intercession through us to bring about the perfect will of God.
d. Isaiah 58:6 Included in your time of prayer, you should spend some
time in fasting.
4) ACT UPON THE WORD OF GOD
a. James 2:26 Faith will die if it is not put to work, once you have
received the Word of God on healing and spent time before the Lord;
you need to act upon Gods Word.

b. Be very sure you have faith in your heart; your spirit will bear
witness with you if you have the faith. It can be disastrous to act on
presumption and not have genuine faith in your heart to step out in
faith. Take the time to put Gods Word in your heart first.
5) GIVE NO PLACE TO THE DEVIL
Neither GIVE place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).
Jesus said, Behold, You are made whole: SIN NO MORE, lest a
WORSE thing come unto you (John 5:14).
The devil cannot move in unless we give him a place. Those who abide
in Christ are safe from Satans power. Sin and careless living on the part
of one who has been healed is an open invitation for the SICKNESS to
COME back into your body.
6) KEEP A SPIRIT OF FAITH
We having the same SPIRIT of FAITH, according as it is written, I
BELIEVE, and therefore have I SPOKEN; we also BELIEVE, and
therefore SPEAK (2 Corinthians 4:13)
People of faith allow the Word to get down into their hearts, and
come back out their mouths. By continually speaking words of faith,
YOU WILL MAINTAIN your healing.
7) WALKING IN LOVE
1 John 4:16 Walking in LOVE is essential if you want to maintain
health and wholeness. Every step out of love is a step out of this vital
union and flow of God in our lives, his life WILL sustain our bodies
and minds.

10) HEALING SCRIPTURES

Exodus 15:26 I will put none of these diseases upon you, for I
am the LORD that heals you.

Psalms 103:3 Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all
thy diseases;

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows:

Isaiah 53:5 With his stripes we are healed.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be
free indeed.

1 John 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one
for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of
a righteous man avails much.

CASTING OUT DEMONS

RULE NUMBER ONE - SATAN IS ALREADY DEFEATED
Jesus already defeated satan and his Kingdom, he is a defeated foe.
Jesus fought the devil and WON.
We enforce the Victory that Jesus has already won.
Believers shouldnt focus on the battle, but focus on the triumphant
victory
We are to take the Word of God and in the Power of the Holy Spirit
enforce the Victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus.

1) YOU CAN CAST OUT DEMONS

Mark 16:17 These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
YOU shall cast out demon.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents
and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy, and nothing
shall by any means hurt you.
Ephesians 6:12, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against PRINCIPALITIES, against POWERS, against the RULERS of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual WICKEDNESS in high
places.
Our enemy is satan, but its not him that we directly struggle against,
its against the demonic army of evil spirits that is under his rule.
It is important that we learn who our enemy is and how he carries out
his plans, so we can effectively wage spiritual war against them.

2) HOW TO CAST OUT DEMONS

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO DRIVE OUT DEMONS? AUTHORITY!

Mark 1:27, And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority he commands even the unclean spirits,
and they do obey him.
Luke 4:35, Jesus was not afraid to exercise His authority either, And
Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And
when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and
hurt him not.
Luke 10:17-19, And the seventy returned again with joy, saying,
Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he
said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I
give unto you power (translates to AUTHORITY) to tread on serpents
and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall
by any means hurt you.

HOW DO WE EXERCISE OUR AUTHORITY?

Through a spoken command in faith directed at the unclean spirits.
The more faith we have, the more authority we can exercise.
DOES EVERY BELIEVER HAVE AUTHORITY OVER DEMONS?
YES!
We are all seated with Christ in the heavenly realm, which means we
are above the demons in rank of authority!
Mark 13:34 also tells us how we are given authority to carry out the
work that is laid before us.
Mark 16:17 tells us that them who believe will be casting out demons.
IN THE NAME OF JESUS
How did the disciples cast out demons?
Through His name. Luke 10:17 tells us,
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
How did the early church go about casting out demons?
Through His name. Acts 16:18 tells us a story where Paul, turned
and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to
come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

How are the believers today supposed to be casting out demons?

Through His name. As we can see in Mark 16:17, these signs shall
follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils.
AUTHORITY IS EXERCISED THROUGH FAITH.
As believers, we have been given authority in Jesus name to drive
out demons. We access our authority through faith and exercise our
authority with a spoken command directed at the unclean spirit.

HOW DO I MINISTER DELIVERANCE?

REQUIREMENTS FOR DELIVERANCE

1. THEY MUST WANT TO BE FREE If people do not want to be
free, then you cannot go against their will.
2. THEY MUST WANT JESUS AS LORD The people need to
have Jesus as their Lord, otherwise the demon will return to them
with seven more demons. Luke 11:24.
3. THEY MUST FORGIVE Unforgiveness gives a demon authority in your life. You must forgive as a choice before God, not
based on feelings. By faith.
4. THEY MUST REPENT Any sinful behavior that allows demons to have access to their lives.
5. THEY MUST WALK WITH GOD Once they are free they
must maintain a walk with the Lord to keep them free and grow
spiritually.
AUTHORITY
When we come to minister in deliverance, we must be absolutely
certain of our authority in Jesus Christ. This means we must be totally
committed to the Lord and have no doubt whatsoever that greater is
He in us than He who is in the world.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He
who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Jesus said: All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations
(Matthew 28:18-19)
We have the authority to minister in the NAME of JESUS and we
must exercise that authority.

HOLY SPIRITS POWER

We must move in the power of the Holy Spirit as we minister because
it is the Holy Spirit who does the deliverance, not us.
Be baptised with the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues. This is the
empowering experience which Jesus Christ cautioned His disciples to
wait for before they went out and preached the gospel after His resurrection:
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
When we are baptised with the Holy Spirit, then we come into knowledge of the gifts of the Spirit and this enables us to move in the gift of
discerning of spirits and in the word of knowledge.
For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another
the word of knowledge through the same Spirit. (I Corinthians 12:8)
In my view, the gift of discerning of spirits is an absolute must in the
deliverance ministry. This gift enables us to go to the heart of the matter and discern the spirit which is causing the problem.

3) PRACTICAL GUIDELINES

DO NOT BECOME OBSESSED WITH AUTHORITY.

Casting out demons is extremely interesting, exciting, full of suspense
and action, but you need to use wisdom.
Do not become so demon conscious that you put your attention on
demons and not Jesus
Casting out demons was only one part of Jesus ministry and not His
whole ministry. You should follow his standard
YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO SET PEOPLE FREE.
Jesus cast out demons, healed the sick, and taught and preached the
Gospel.
Mark 16:17 - You have a duty and obligation to cast out demons
Matthew 28:28 - Jesus gave us His power and authority to cast out
demons
John 4:4 - Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (the
devil)

BIND THE DEMON

We can bind Satan in the name of Jesus (Matthew 12:29)
This removes the demon power because he gets his power from satan
There are times when casting out demons may not complete the job.
You may require God to perform a miracle after the spirit is removed
to retore their minds or bodies.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE SPIRITS NAME THEMSELVES
Mark 5:1-17 Jesus cast out a legion (about 3000 demons) with one
command.
This happened on one occasion in the Bible. You can tell them to be
quiet and just leave.
MOST INCURABLE DISEASES ARE CAUSED BY SPIRITS
Luke 6:19, Mark 6:56, Acts 1:8, Mark 5:25-34
Sicknesses that cannot be determined by a doctor may be caused by
evil spirits.
Cancer is also considered a spirit and must be commanded to come
out of a person.
PRACTICAL MINISTRY OF LOVE
Deliverance must be ministered with love
Yelling, screaming, speaking in tongues does not cast out demons.
You do it with the authority given you in the name of Jesus, not with
lung power.
Speak in tongues before in preparation to casting out demons. (Jude
20)
Keep open to the leading of the Holy Spirit; He may give you wisdom
as to what the spirit is, etc.
Do not minister to the opposite sex unless you are accompanied by
your spouse or someone of the same sex.
Born again, spirit-filled Christians cannot be possessed by evil spirits
but they can be oppressed by them.

CAN A CHRISTIAN HAVE A DEMON?
Defining the term Can a Christian be possessed by a demon?
Possession in the bible does not mean to control or owned by a demon.

Bible term: To be demonized or vexed. (Influenced or affected by)

Can a person be influenced or under the power (influence) of a demon? Absolutely!
What some believers interpret as demonic possession is actually
demonic influence.
Demonic possession and demonic influence are two completely
different realms of demonic activity.
Possession is ownership of demons from within. The unclean
spirits possess, occupy or own an individual that is categorized as
possessed. It must possess their spirits. (Christians have a Born
Again Spirit, demons cannot live there)
Demonic influence on the other hand, is interference of demons
from an external position. It is not internal. It is from an external
position in the spirit realm where evil spirits can freely operate
among believers and non-believers.
In this spiritual realm they have no ownership over anyone yet
constantly operate to influence people through temptation, deception, and manifestation for some.
A Christian can yield themselves to demonic activity, by following after their flesh and become influenced and controlled by
demon.
IS IT THE DEVIL OR THE FLESH?
We must distinguish if a person is only under the control of their
flesh or an evil Spirit.
Works of the flesh (Galatians 5:17-21)
Living in the flesh can open the door for demonic activity in
peoples lives.
We must walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25) as this closes the
door to demons dominating our bodies & lives.
Too many people attribute their fleshly desires and actions to the
devil.
We must mortify the works of the flesh. (Colossians 3:5-9, Romans 8:13)

2) HOW CAN DEMONS ENTER?

THROUGH OUR OWN SIN - Such things as idolatry, rebellion

against God, unforgiveness, anger, rejection, hatred, bitterness, fornication, homosexuality, lying, lust and similar sins can provide an
open door through which demons can enter.

FEAR & DEPRESSION - Fears & phobias that cause sicknesses,

depressions and suicide.
WITCHCRAFT & CURSES - Witchcraft and occultism, curses being
put upon people.
THROUGH OUR MIND - Our thought life, through fantasy, e.g.
through fantasizing about sex. Also by playing demonic video games,
movies etc.
SHOCK - As a result of shock or trauma, the devil often attacks and
we have to cast out the spirit of shock or trauma.
GRIEF - Often as a result of prolonged grief, a spirit of grief can
enter and with it can bring all sorts of diseases.
ACCIDENTS - At the moment of an accident, a spirit of fear can
attack a person and unless cast out, they have continuing sickness or
pain.
MARRIAGE BREAKDOWNS - The anger and resentment and hatred that results from marriage breakdowns is a primary entry point of
demonic power.
HABITS - E.g. masturbation, smoking, fornication.
UNGODLY RELATIONSHIPS - SOUL TIES - These are emotional
ties existing between people who have been in an ungodly relationship, e.g. adultery or persons with whom another has fornicated. Also,
if there has been molestation on the part of the parent to the child.
CONTROL - People who dominate & control people, keep them
bound by fear.
TRANSFERENCE OF SPIRITS
Submitting to people who are not Christians.
Movies, television, music and magazines full of violence, pornography and lust.
Drugs & Alcoholism.
Fornication & Adultery Pornography.
Objects & Idols - We should destroy any carvings, objects or anything
associated with the occult which is in our home
Rape & Molestation
Witchcraft & the occult.
Cultural traditions, beliefs and environment. (e.g. Chinese traditions).
False Religions & Doctrines

SECTION 3

SALVATION & HOLY SPIRIT

1) HOW TO BE SAVED?
The following guidelines are to help you share how they can receive
salvation through Jesus Christ. Explain each section to them and then
have them pray out loud the prayer at the end.
GOD LOVES YOU
The Bible says, God so loved the world that He gave His one and
only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have
eternal life John 3:16
The problem is that . . .
WE ARE SEPARATED FROM GOD BY SIN.
All of us have done and said that things are wrong. This is called sin,
and our sins have separated us from God. The Bible says All have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Everyone is born in sin and needs a saviour to free them from the
power and consequences of sin.
The Bible says For the wages of the sin is death, and the gift of God
is life age-during in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever.
The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago.
GOD SENT HIS SON JESUS CHRIST TO DIE FOR OUR SINS.
Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the
cross to pay the penalty for our sins. God demonstrates His own love
for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His
Father. He offers us his salvation, if we accept Him as our Lord and
Saviour. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one
comes to the Father except by Me. John 14:6

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child.
As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name. John 1:10
You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in
to your life as your Lord and Saviour.
HOW TO BE SAVED.
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in
your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
If they do not know Jesus as their Saviour and Lord, simply have
them pray the following prayer in faith, and Jesus will become their
Lord!
Heavenly Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus.
Your Word says, Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall
be saved I am asking Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over
my life.
I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and I believe in my heart
that God has raised him from the dead and I will be saved. For with
my heart I believe that I have right standing with God through Jesus
Christ and I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord and saviour and I
believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
I thank you now that I am forgiven from sin and born again through
Jesus Christ. Amen.
NOW THEY ARE SAVED.
You need to pray with them and ask for the Lord to guide their new
life in Jesus.
They will need to be followed up with teaching and encouraged to
attend a church where they can be nurtured and grow spiritually in
Christ.
They will need to be given a bible to read. Give them some scriptures
to read.
Encourage them to start to pray, to talk to the Lord in prayer.

2) HOW TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Teach the person from the scriptures about how to receive the Holy
Spirit infilling.
The key is that they understand how to receive and this allows them
to be filled very quickly.
Jesus said If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who
BELIEVES in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow
Rivers of living water. This he spoke concerning the Spirit, whom
those believing in him would RECEIVE; the Holy Spirit was not yet
given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. (John 7:37-39)

YOU RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT BY FAITH

Luke 11: 9-13 Ask and you shall receive.
Mark 11:24 Believe that you have received.
Acts 1:8 You shall receive Power.
Acts 2:38 Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:14-15 Receive the Holy Spirit
Acts 8:18-19 Receive by the laying on of hands.
Acts 19:2 Did you receive the Holy Spirit.
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Acts 2:1-4 They began to speak as the Holy Spirit prompted them.
Acts 10:44-46 They heard them speak with tongues and magnify
God.
Acts 19:6 They spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Mark 16:22 Jesus said, You shall speak with new tongues.
The scriptures clearly show us that when the Holy Spirit filled the
believer, they spoke with tongues. This is evidence that they had the
Holy Spirit.
FIVE IMPORTANT FACTS
1. The Holy Spirit is a GIFT He is Given. (Acts 2:38)
2. Salvation is for unbelievers, the Holy Spirit is for Believers. You
must be saved first. (Rom 10:8-10)
3. You Receive by Faith Yield to the Holy Spirits prompting (Galatians 3:2)
4. You do the speaking, the Holy Spirit enables you. (Acts 2:4)
5. Continual to pray in tongues.

Once you have shared the Word of God about How to receive the
Holy Spirit, you need to have them pray to receive and then lay your
hands upon them and pray that they be filled with the Holy Spirit.
PRAY THIS PRAYER:
I am now reborn! I am a Christian, a child of Almighty God! I am
saved! You said in Your Word, If ye then being evil, know how to give
good gifts unto your children: HOW MUCH MORE shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Im also asking You to fill me with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, rise up within me as
I praise God. I fully expect to speak with other tongues as You give me
the utterance. In Jesus Name. Amen!
Encourage them to speak in the new language of the Holy Spirit, not
in their own language,
They have to use their own voice. God will not force them to speak.
Dont be concerned with how it sounds. It is a heavenly language!
ENCOURAGE THEM IN THE FOLLOWING:
Continue to have the flow of the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues
daily for the rest of your life. This will bring spiritual edification and
stop you from drying up. The river is in you once you have received
the Holy Spirit, so let the river flow out.
i) Pray in the Spirit: 1 Corinthians 14:4, Jude:20.
ii) Ephesians 5:18-20 Praise, Worship and Spiritual songs the Lord.
iii) Meditate upon the Word of God: 1 John 2:14, John 8:31-32
iv) Right conduct: Ephesians 4:29-32, 2 Thessalonians 4:1-8
