and Non-count Noun Practice



Part 1: Circle the COUNT nouns and underline the NONCOUNT nouns in the sentences below. There
may be more than one noun in each sentence.
1. Some important characteristics in a good friend are honesty, loyalty and compassion.
2. It took ten years for him to finish his doctorate degree because he had a full-time job at
the same time.
3. Dont forget to take down the luggage from the attic. I want to pack all the suitcases with
gifts for the family.
4. Thomas Edison is probably best-known for his invention of the incandescent light-blub,
but few people realize that he also invented the movie camera, and even an electronic
vote-recorder as well as created a way for electricity to be distributed to users.
5. Eco-tourism is a current trend in travel. It means tourists can travel to areas where the
animals and plants might be endangered. This type of tourism encourages visitors to
help threatened natural environments and see rare species of plants and animals.
