Point Richmond Waterfront History Hike

2:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m.
Start and end: Point Richmond History Museum, 139Washington Street at
West Richmond Avenue, next to the Library and Community Center
Karen will lead a 3.2-mile (6.4 Roundtrip) hike through historic downtown
Point Richmond, through the tunnel to Keller Beach, Miller-Knox Park, past
Brickyard Cove to former Kaiser Shipyard No. 3, home of the floating history
ship the Red Oak Victory and Riggers Loft Winery. Learn some local history,
learn about Richmonds World War II Homefront Shipyards, get some exercise
and see some amazing panoramic views. There will be random trivia questions
and the chance to win Fabulous Small Prizes! The hike will end with optional
winetasting ($10 per flight) and optional lunch provided by the Street Eats
Food Truck (most entrees about $10). Also, rides back to downtown Point
Richmond available from A Car 4 Kids & Adults at $10 per person if you dont
want to hike back.
