Graduate of Wake Forest Universitys Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, Chi Sigma Iota Honors Society Member. Currently preparing to obtain LPCA licensure in the Fall of 2016.
Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Deaf-Human Services from Northern Illinois
University. At NIU I was an honors student involved in two grant funded research labs while I also conducted individual research within the program. I completed every psychology related course that my undergraduate university had to offer; I graduated with over 140 credit hours (required is 120). I gained a lot of experience within the clinical field of research working with infants, parents and college students. I have completed my practicum and internship I at Novant Behavior Health in WinstonSalem. I have had experience in leading and co- facilitating the mental health group, the goal setting group, AA group, mental health groups and I have administered assessments to incoming triage clients. In addition, I have had many individual sessions with various clients within each program throughout my field experience. I have completed 60 credit hours of course work, over 1,000 hours of clinical experience (practicum & internship I, II) and two residency training experiences.
Theoretically, I am a firm believer in person-centered counseling; the client should be the
guide throughout the counseling process. I have a strong personal belief in holistic medicine; meaning, I hope to encompass mental, physical (healthy eating), social, and spiritual wellness throughout my future counseling profession.
