Benets Package
The following will be granted to the member or his dependent as medically necessary

In terms of Inpa=ent Hospital Care, benets include

Other services included are determined by the corpora=on and depends on whether
its appropriate and cost eec=ve.

First considera=on is that within the rst 5 years of implementa=on, a basic minimum
package should be provided based on the following guidelines:

1. Cost should be so that available na=onal and government subsidies for premium
payment of indigents are enough to cover the widest possible popula=on
2. Ini=al set of services cannot be less than what is provided by the current
medicare program in terms of cost
3. Services are priori=zed based on cost eec=veness and poten=al maximum relief
from nancial burden of the beneciary

Second considera=on is that the program should provide supplemental health benet
coverage to the benecieries of contributory funds

The program should expand the basic minimum benet package as the coverage of
the popula=on increases so that all members will benet within 5 years of
implementa=on.

Finally, there should be no reduc=on or interrup=on of benets currently being
enjoyed by present members of Medicare.

The following are not included as benets under this act.

Those who will benet include members whose premium contribu=ons for at least 3
months have been paid within 6 months of the rst day of availment,

As long as he can show that he contributes with sucient regularity and as long as
he currently is not subject to legal penal=es shown under Sec=on 44 of the Act
