Millennials and Technology

When did you last use your smartphone, your personal computer, your tablet? Or
perhaps visit the internet?
But, the real question is, when havent you used these devices? When havent you visit
the net even once in a day?
People nowadays cannot live without these newly developed technologies. We
are too attached that leads to becoming too dependent on these devices. That
sometimes results to something bad such as the disadvantages and also the good
things that causes or lives to become easier and convenient.
The millennial generation is the first to come of age with cable TV, internet, and
devices such as cellphones and tablets, based on a reliable source. The reason why
technology is a must have in every people of our generation.
According to survey, the millenials ranked technology use, first, with 24%,
followed by music and pop culture with 11%, and liberal/tolerant with 7% as the most
defining characteristics of their generation, which shows the essence of technology in
our time.
Given our fluency and knowledge in using these technologies, we see things
positively. We pay attention to the advantages, sometimes setting aside its ill-favoured
effects in our lives. If we become too attach with our smartphones? It can cause
laziness that makes us less productive. It can also do badly in our health. And

sometimes affect our way of thinking and attitude. We just have to limit our use with
these modern technologies.
Indeed, technology is important and can help us in many ways. It is the most
prominent thing in our generation. But, let us not neglect or forget other factors that are
also important to each of us, like spending time with our family, enriching our culture
and relationship with God.
