Parent Letter: Spanish 5th and 6th grade

Dear Parents,

August 2016

I am very excited to have your child in Spanish class! This is a

conversational-style class that incorporates the basics of the
language and culture into a 30-minute class twice a week. The
emphasis of this class is on listening and gaining comprehensive
input.
Each student will be given their grades Spanish spelling words
and he/she will be responsible for knowing the months words before
they come to Spanish class. A copy of this will be on the Spanish
class website at visitationspanish.weebly.com. Also, on this website
will be videos for students to watch for assignments. There will be
periodic quizzes over these videos.
Students should bring their Spanish 3-ring binder and planner to
each class. The student will write assignments for Spanish in the
extra box for that day. Students are responsible for copying the
assignment from the board. It is expected that the student be able to
use the previous grade levels Spanish terms.
Students that study with supplementary materials do the best in
class, experience the highest confidence, and gain the most from the
lessons. Some free online Spanish resources are www.duolingo.com
and www.spanishspanish.com. There are other practice websites,
games, songs, and videos on my Spanish class website.
Thank you for your cooperation and support! Lets have a fun
year!
