Rhetorical Analysis Draft 1 Thesis

Maria Tatars collections of Little Red Riding Hood, along with her scrutiny, serve as ideal
fairytales and investigations which succeeds in portraying strangers as cynical beings urging
young children to deny trust to strangers by exposing their emotions to cynical actions of the
unfamiliar wolf, utilizing credibility to portray a convincing argument and challenging the logic
in which Little Red Riding Hood chooses to act upon.

In your final draft, work on strengthening your analysis to be sure each sentence clearly
supports your thesis. Think about organization, and be sure that your argument develops
throughout--each paragraph should build upon your argument (and be sure to transition between
ideas). Cite each source from the Norton anthology individually (see "a work in an anthology" on
the MLA purse website), and be sure to use 3 critical secondary sources (at least two from the
criticism section at the back of the book, not just the introductions to the tales).

teaching young children not to trust strangers by appealing to their emotions the deceptive nature
of strangers, portraying to them how Little Red Riding Hood copes with conflict, and
challenging the rationale in which Little Red Riding Hood chooses to act upon.
