LEDs
Must be fitted the correct way round

Electrolytic capacitor
Must be fitted the correct way round
This marking indicates the lead on
this side is the negative lead

The lead on the opposite

side is the postive lead
Value

Short lead denotes

cathode on 3mm and
5mm LEDs

5mm LEDs have flat side

on the LED body.

Maximum working
voltage

On the PCB one hole is marked

with a +. The postive lead should
be located in this hole

Diodes
Must be fitted the
correct way round

1N4001
One end of the diode has a band marked
around the body. This denotes the Cathode.

1N4148

Insert the diode so it is oriented with the

band matching the PCB overlay

Voltage regulator (78L05)

Integrated Circuit (PIC)

Must be fitted the correct way round

Must be fitted the correct way round

Flat face

Notch

Indent denotes pin 1

MOSFET ( STP36NF06 )
Must be fitted the correct way round

Metal tab
MOSFETs are highly
susceptible to damage from
static discharge.
Do not handle until installing
the part. Avoid touching the
pins of the device.
Follow ESD / anti-static
precautions when handling

Fit short lead to left hole

(RGB MOSFET Driver board)

Both the MOSFET and 7805 use the same type

of package.
