Today,anyenterprisecancapitalizeonmobiledevicestotriggerahostofbenefits,includingcostsavingswith
productivityimprovements,fasterspeedtomarket,enhancedcustomerexperiencesandnewrevenuestreams.
Totapmobilitysbenefits,however,retailersmustharnessthechallengesofcreatingamobileenabledculture.
A2015enterprisemobilitysurveybyCitrixfoundthatthenumberofdevicesmanagedbyrespondents
increased72%from2014to2015.Thisandothersurveyfindings,Citrixreported,highlighttheevolvingnature
ofworkandemphasizetheneedfororganizationstobothempowerandmanageemployeemobilityinorderto
meetsecurity,agilityandproductivitydemands.
Managingtheproliferationofmobiledevicesaccessingcorporateinformationbeginswithcreatingamobile
enterprisestrategyandaligningitwiththestrategyoftheretailer.Thisstrategy,whichisessentialtokeepingup
withvasttransformationsunderwayintechnologyandconsumerbehavior,needstobeinitiatedattopexecutive
levels.
Evenwithasoundstrategyinplace,theenterprisewillneedtodealwiththedaytodaymanagementofthe
mobileinfrastructure.AccordingtoIDC,however,mostenterpriseslackthetechnology,staffingandprocesses
toturnthemobilitymegatrendintocompetitiveadvantages.IDCanalystsbelievethatthirdpartyservicesare
crucialforeffectivelyimplementingamobileenterprisestrategy.
Lackingexpertiseinmanagingadiversemobileecosystem,companiesareincreasinglyturningtomanaged
mobilityservicesproviders.MMSelevatesthelifecyclemanagementofmobiledevicestoastrategiclevelthat
