Report On Site Visit at PCMC Water Treatment Plant

The visit was arranged for TE Civil students on 10/01/2014. Total 77 Students
were present for the same along with 2 faculty members.
The visit mainly focused on studying the design and operation of units of water
treatment plant such as screen chamber, aeration, sedimentation tank, Filtration
tank, Chlorination, sludge drying beds, sludge thickener etc. Students got to see all
the treatment units and study the detailed working of each unit. The plant is well
maintained plant and all the units of plant are under good working condition. The
water is taken from Ravet weir for treatment and provided to Pimri Chinchwad
area for drinking after treatment.
The water treated from the plant is forwarded to elevated service reservoirs and
then provided to individual residences.
The plant is very well maintained and the units are very descriptive which gave
the detailed knowledge to students.
