Part A:

Monitoring and correcting ongoing activities to facilitate achieving of

organisational, departmental and/or operational goals?

We conduct regular supervising to ensure that all the employees working in

our organisation is doing their job right and efficiently.During supervision,
if it is found that there is an employee that does not do their job right,it
is our responsibility as the supervisor or managers to these employees to
teach that employee and help them to improve their skills. As
supervisors and managers,we are also responsible to
guide the
employees on ways to improve their work efficiency. One key factor to
ensure efficiency is for the employees to cooperate with each other
while completing their tasks and dividing workload equally. We also
conduct sessions where the staff discuss and share opinions on the work
they have done which allows them to reflect and point out criteria that
can be improved to help the organisation achieve goals .Besides that,
our organisation requires for the employees to manage their time
properly as time management is a key factor that will ensure the
achievement of organisational, departmental ,and organisation goals. We
conduct time management seminars to educate employees on time
management as they must know to manage their time wisely to fulfill
one of the main organisational, departmental and organisational goals
which is to finish the jobs before the deadline to keep our customers
satisfied.
The extra question modified from the old assignment:

How do your company hire employees, what criterias do managers look for in a

job applicant?
Most employees are hired through interview. If the qualification and experience of
the candidate are highly sought after in the industry, then the candidate will have a
better chance of getting hired. Fresh graduates however are hired if there are entry
level positions available and are then observed and evaluated by the managers and
senior workers for three months. If a fresh graduate is able to display quality work
or are able to stand out from the others, he/she will be offered the position as a
permanent staff. Besides that, some employees are also hired through
recommendations of employees and through working agencies.

Part B:

Second, discuss and examine the functions of management engaged by the manager in his/her work
activities, and relate it to the level of the management theoretically.

The first function of

management that the manager enganges is
planning. He plans out the working methods as well as which job to carry out
there are multiple jobs to complete at the same time.He will decide which
machines to run and the task sequence to follow so that the job can be
completed in the shortest possible time. The manager also spends time
mapping out the necessary steps he and the employees that he works with
must take so they can increase their output quantity as well as quality.
The manager also engages in the management function of organizing. The
manager determines how he will distiribute the resources and organizes the
employees accordingly. He also identifies different roles in a certain job and
then assigns each particular role to the respective employee that possesses
the set of skills that is needed to carry out the assigned duties of the role
efficiently.During the process of completing the job, the manager is the
authority figure whom the employees takes advice from and is the mentor
figure to the inexperienced as well as also providing guidance to the
employees and pointing them to the right direction of getting the job done if
needed.
Also the manager applies the management function of leading by motivating
the employees below him.He does this by showing the workers how the work
can be done in a simpler manner if they find it difficult or is using the wrong
techniques that make an easy task seem hard.He also motivates newcomers
by providing guidance and giving them a clear picture on how things in the
workplace happen as well as getting them used to the workplace surrounding
if they come from a different background or are fresh graduates.
Besides that the manager also implements controlling in his job by ensuring
the job his employees do are up to industry standards .He does this by
ensuring his employees take all the necessary steps to carry out their work
efficiently to control output quality. He is the person that does quality control
on the work quality of the employees under him.He also controls the quality
of the work output by checking the raw materials used are of good quality. If
the quality of the raw material obtained are found to have deteriorated from
the previous batch, the manager will refer to the raw material suppplier and
discuss on how the raw materal and chemicals can be improved so that the
quality of the final product may be preserved.
Theoretically the manager is a first-line manager or a low level manager as
his responsibilites include staff supervising, motivation ,assigning employees
tasks and also ensuring the quality and quantity of production.
