Why They Walk Away - A True Story of The Mortgage Debacle

In April of 2013 my nightmare began. Having trouble paying my Mortgage, I called BB&T who is
the Bank I payed my mortgage to. I was told the would send me a Mortgage Modification
Package that I could apply for. I was told that after missing Three payments my package would
be reviewed. The review process took 6 months to be told I was denied. I immediately applied
again, denied. Then I obtained a lawyer, Maria Flynn, who specialized in Loan Modifications. I
reapplied Twice through her firm and again - denied. Since Ms. Flynn was out due to medical
issues, I turned to NCRC in Washington DC. July 2014.
02/05/2014 Fisher Law Group filed in Circuit Court for foreclosure
They never served me the OTD (Order To Docket)
7/23/2014 - I went to the circuit court to file for foreclosure mediation. The clerk said they did not
have the form there- I should have received it in my OTD. She then looked in the court file to
find MY copy of request for Foreclosure Mediation. I filled it out and paid $50.00.
9/10/2014 First Foreclosure Mediation - continued because representative Angie Dickerson from
BB&T said they never received my Mod Package.
Between the 2 Mediations - I was finally served my OTD by Fisher Law Group.
9/28/2014 - Served my OTD. which stated. Servicer-BB&T. Secured Party Wells Fargo/FHLB
10/28/2014 Second Foreclosure Mediation - Found in my favor, because Angie Dickerson stated
that they did not participate in HAMP Modifications. She stated that they were the servicer not
the secured party. She said the secured party was Wells Fargo and they do not participate in
HAMP Modifications
February 26,2015 I received notice that my Home was advertised in the Baltimore Sun to go to
foreclosure sale at the Circuit Court steps, February 2, 2015.
January 29, 2015 my lawyer had an emergency chamber hearing to stay the foreclosure.
Hearing in Circuit Court March 29th,2015.
The Court ordered: An Order Of Continuing Stay & Wells Fargo Must appear if there is a
mediation scheduled. The Judge also ordered Me to continue paying the HAMP Payment to
Fisher Law Group,which a was allowed to start paying February 2015
Council for BB&T/Fisher Law Group was to Submit my HAMP package to;
BB&T Loss Mitigation - The Sub-Servicer
Wells Fargo - The Master Servicer, and Wells Fargo acting as a liaison, was to submit it to the
Secured Party - FHLB Chicago
None of the above happened.
10/26/2015 My 7th HAMP Modification package was submitted to BB&T for them to review it
and then send directly to the Secured Party/FHLB Chicago.
10/28/2015, Foreclosure Mediation @Circuit Court, Wells Fargo does not appear. Mediation
extended until 12/12/2015

Now it is November 3,2015. And I continue to pay my HAMP Mortgage payment, jump through
the Banks hoops as people continue to circle my home. My home is listed on Zillow as a PreForeclosure.
This whole situation is a Travesty. The Banks and their Lawyers have drained me financially,
emotionally and physically. I truly understand why so many homeowners walk away. I am a 59
year old single women and my home is my security. I will NOT lose it!
