Introduction

This document describes how to install TEMS Pocket Lite 13 on a mobile

device using the TEMS Pocket Installer.

Step-by-step Instruction

1. You should have received a file named TEMS Pocket <version

number> Installer.zip.
2. Using some ZIP file utility such as 7Zip, unpack this file (for instance on
your desktop) to an empty folder of your choosing, e.g. TEMS Pocket
Installer.
3. Using Windows Explorer, open the TEMS Pocket Installer folder and
navigate to the folder \archive\pocketinstaller.
4. If you are using an Android 4.2 device such as Samsung Galaxy S4
(GT-I9505), you will now need to enable the Developer options menu
by carrying out the following steps, which let the TEMS Pocket Installer
software access the device. If you are using an older Android version,
please skip to step 5.
a. On your device, navigate to Settings More About device.
b. Scroll down to Build number.
c.

Tap seven (7) times on the Build number entry.

d. The Developer options menu is now enabled.

5. Now go to Settings More Developer options.
a. Activate Developer options. Tap OK to confirm.
b. Activate USB debugging. Tap OK to confirm.
6. Connect the device to your PC with a USB cable.
7. On the PC, in the pocketinstaller folder, there is a file named
pocketinstaller.win32.exe. This is the installer proper. Double-click the
file to start the installation process.
8. A dialog may now appear on the device. It asks you to approve the
computer for connection to the device. You can select to approve for
this occasion only, or to approve also for future connections to this
computer. Make your choice and approve the connection.
9. The installer should now recognize the device. From now on, follow the
instructions given by the TEMS Pocket Installer.
a. Please note that if your device model supports TEMS Pocket
Professional, the installer will present a dialog that lets you select
what product to install. Only install the product for which you have a
license, that is, TEMS Pocket Lite in this case. Having TEMS
Pocket Professional installed on the device without a valid license
for it may affect device performance.

10. When the installer has finished, TEMS Pocket Lite has been installed
on your device.
11. Make sure that your device has a working Internet connection, either to
a cellular packet data network or to a Wi-Fi network. If you can use the
devices Web browser to surf the Web, everything should be fine.
12. Start the TEMS Pocket Lite application. The license will be downloaded
automatically, after which TEMS Pocket Lite will start, provided that the
license download was successful. If this procedure does not complete
within one minute, or if no license is available, an error message
appears. In that case, check your Internet connection and try again. If
the problem persists, please contact TEMS Support.
