BODY 1
This habit can become prevalent for several reasons. A wide range of parents regard TV as a beneficial
source of entertainment and education without having a knowledge of the potential dangers of
excessive exposure to TV. Therefore, they allow their offspring to spend hours a day immersing
themselves in TV programs. Additionally, a large number of parents do not have sufficient financial
conditions to pay the fees for extra-curricular activities or programs like sport activities, arts clubs or
science clubs, which stimulate childrens initiative and creativity. Therefore, allowing their descendants
to watch much TV is their priority. This habit takes children a great deal of their leisure time, followed
by their less attention to other beneficial programs.
BODY 2
However, a diversity of measures should be taken to handle this problem. Parents are advised to raise
their own awareness of the hidden hazards of childrens excessive TV exposure as well as the values of
permitting children to take part in initiative and creativity stimulation activities so that they will prevent
children from utilizing their time for being glued to TV too much. Another solution is that the
governmental leaders should construct free recreational areas for children and youth unions or other
organizations hold free arts clubs, sports events or science clubs for children at all ages to join.
