Slide 9

The Triple-E is designed and optimized for lower speeds.

Triple e speed design

hull low speed optimize

Slide 10

The top speed would be 25 knots, but steaming at 20

knots would reduce fuel consumption by 37%, and at 17.5
knots fuel consumption would be halved. These slower
speeds would add 2 6 days to journey times.

Slide 12

The twin propeller solution can be more energy efficient

idea is to have as much propeller diameter as possible to
match the low number of engine revolutions.

Triple E Asia-europe

Slide 16

These vessels reduce CO2 emissions by 35% per container

moved, compared to industry average on the Asia-Europe trade.
The Waste-Heat Recovery System uses the energy in the hot
exhaust gas to produce extra energy for propulsion, saving up to 10%
of main engine power.

The Triple-E class will be designed for future safe and sound
-towhich will list and describe the materials used to build the vessel, where
they are located, and how they can be correctly disassembled and
recycled / disposed.

However, due to its size and cost, its efficiency is severely reduced if it is
not fully loaded.

Slide 19

There are only about 20 ports in Asia-Europe route that

can handle the size of triple-E.

They are too wide to cross the Panama Canal,

but can transit the Suez Canal.

Slide 21

The deckhouse is relatively further forward, whilst the

engines are to the rear.

Slide 22

The forward deckhouse allows containers to be stacked

higher in front of the bridge (which further increases capacity)
whilst still maintaining forward visibility good enough.
