July 5, 2016 ‘To Whom It May Concern, Itis my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Alexander Boullon. | had the pleasure of observing him in his last semester of student teaching, and it is easy to recognize the excellent preparation and work ethic that he brings to his new career. His passion for the profession and desire to provide effective instruction to all students is evident and he will be a wonderful addition to any school fortunate enough to have him. In lessons across all content areas, Mr. Boullon's instructional plans are closely aligned with the instructional standards. Math lessons are designed with the mathematical practices in mind and with the consistent use of representations to promote conceptual understanding and problem solving skills. As the need arises, he differentiates instruction through the use of flexible groups and additional resources. His use of formative assessment techniques enables him to gauge ‘student understanding and to adjust instruction as necessary. In Language Arts as well as the content areas he plans lessons in which students interact with a variety of literary and informational texts. As required by the standards, he facilitates academic discussions between students and provides multiple opportunities for students to work collaboratively in pairs and groups. Mr. Boullon provides students with a positive learning environment and uses a variety of strategies to ensure that students are highly motivated and engaged in his lessons. He effectively integrates technology across the curriculum and uses a variety of platforms and applications to supplement instruction, differentiate students’ practice activities, and as assessment tools. Through the seamless use of technology, he supports students’ individual needs while providing each with essential 21% century skills. Just as important as Mr. Boullon’s instructional practice is the emphasis he places on establishing a classroom environment in which high expectations are held for each and in which all students feel supported, In order to further learn and grow in addressing both students academic and affective needs, he demonstrates an interest in working collaboratively with peers, whether planning instruction or seeking feedback and advice. Itis my sincere belief that Mr. Boullon is embarking on his teaching career with many effective practices already in place. He is a highly motivated and highly effective teacher who will provide invaluable instruction to students.
