Welcome to
Sixth Grade!!!
Middle school is a world of a
difference when you come up
from elementary school. Here
we expect a lot from you. The
two main things we expect are
RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY.
You will be graded on these
weekly as well as all of your
classes. We will discuss these
in more detail the first days of
school.

APPROACH TO LEARNING
Students will be monitored for their Approach
to Learning. The areas reported will be:
Responsibility: Student participates in
classroom learning activities in a positive and
purposeful manner; arrives to class on time
with materials
Respect: Student follows instructions in a
prompt polite manner; demonstrates age,
grade, and task appropriate communication in
a polite, respectful manner.

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

BELL WORK

Bell Work - Is assigned every Monday & due every Friday.

Examples will be on the board for skills not yet learned or in
need of reviewing.
Vocabulary - Is done every chapter. It will be written in the
Spiral Notebook in order of chapters we do & chapter labeled.
Late Slips - If your assignment is not complete at the
beginning of class it is YOUR responsibility to fill out a late
slip, Write your name in the binder & have me sign the slip.
The Assignment & Late Slip are due the next school day.
Composition Notebook Vs. Spiral Notebook- The C. notebook
is the book we will take notes in everyday. You will utilize this
book as a reference for assignments, quizzes, and tests. What
I write, you write. Feel free to add color & design on your own
time, it can help you retain skills. You are also graded on your
notes, they are not optional. The S. Notebook will be used for
vocabulary and homework assignments.
Im Done Now What?! - If you finish early you should be
working on math skills: practicing math facts, task cards,
extra problems in the book, previous skills needing review,
or helping a neighbor in need (with teacher ok). We want
everyone to succeed and learn their best! :)
