Welcome to our Family

Dear Riley Family,

Welcome back to an exciting 2016-2017 school year at Riley School! The staff is thrilled that you have entrusted your
childs education to us. It is our goal this year to create an enriched learning environment that engages each child at
Riley. We have an excellent teaching staff with a wealth of knowledge and an outstanding support staff, who work in
different capacities to support your childs learning. This years theme is Ensuring High Levels of Learning for All. Of
course, as the first teacher in your childs life, we need and welcome your support and cooperation. Alone with your
assistance, I am committed to reviewing our current practices and developing new procedures, in an effort to foster
an optimal teaching and learning environment for all.
The year begins with a few additions to our staff. Jillian Davis will join us as Rileys Assistant Principal. Shes joining
Harvey School District 152 with eight years of Early Childhood Teaching experience within the general and special
education environment from South Holland School District 151.Tiauna King will join us as a Special Education/Resource
Teacher. Shes joining Harvey School District 152 with extensive Early Childhood Teaching experience from Fayette
County Public Schools in Kentucky.
Additionally, we encourage you to become active in our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which you will hear more
from and about in the coming days. The PTA is a wonderful way for you to share ideas and support the mission of the
school. Another way to get involved includes volunteering in our building, participating in after school activities,
chaperoning field trips, and offering to share your area of expertise to the classes/school, etc.
Finally, I sincerely believe in a school environment that is collaborative in nature and draws on the strengths of all
stakeholders, in striving for improving student outcomes. Working together makes a difference in the lives of our
students. I look forward to working with all of the wonderful students, parents, and stakeholders of Riley School.
Educationally Yours,
Dr. Deborah Watson-Hill
Principal
