August 28, 2016 Reflection Questions 1. The biggest challenge I faced when planning the lesson was trying to pick a topic that everyone would enjoy. As an Early and Primary Education major, I felt that it was best to do a lesson on something that not only myself, but also most of the class, would be potentially teaching in the future. 2. The biggest challenge I faced while teaching the lesson was making sure everyone was paying attention. Because the lesson had to be done in a different language, it was hard for the class to keep up and understand what was being taught to them. 3. I relied on the pictures in the slideshow. I knew that most of the class would not understand the different language, but they would understand it once they saw the pictures. 4. Communication was harder than I was expecting. I did not expect the class to comprehend and remember the Spanish vocabulary they were taught in grammar school. 5. Yes I feel I used co-teaching effectively. Every teacher had the same amount of work and everyone got to speak and teach the same amount of time. 6. I feel like I achieved my lesson. Once we were finished with the actual lesson and we did our review, most of the class was able to answer the questions based off of the material. A teacher can be sure that his or her students understood a lesson by assessing the objective. 7. The biggest challenge I face as a student was trying to comprehend what I was being taught in a different language. It was hard to follow because I really had to think about what the other teachers were saying and try to remember as much as I could about Spanish.
8. As a student, I relied on the pictures in the slideshow but more importantly, my peers. I found myself copying what the other students were doing around me because I could not understand the lesson.
