This seminar will offer four different focus sessions to differentiate for the parent audience.

SELECT ONE TO ATTEND

Understanding ALP's: This session will outline the Advanced Learning PLan Lifecycle for
elementary and secondary students. We will discuss the goal setting and progress monitoring
process for both strength area goals and affective goals for the 2016-17 school year

Gifted&talented101: Learn about the programs, policies, and practices for gifted and
talented students in the Jeffco school district. Parents will gain an understanding of the program
and a basic foundation for who the gifted are. Participants will have a chance to ask questions and
will leave with resources for communication and support.

Social Emotional: Join us as we discover the inner world of giftedness. Topics will include:
over excitabilities, anxiety, and perfectionism. We will discuss how it feels to be gifted and how you
can support the gifted learner.
Parent Conferences: Ideas to help parents understand the information presented to them at
conferences and what questions to ask.

Parents and Staff do not need to RSVP.

Babysitting is not provided; although we encourage ageappropriate attendance.
