1) Install Ansys 12 and License Manager

In Ansys 13, install "Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility" which will appear on the
Language selection screen
Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility cannot be used to setup license
2) Use WinHostID to generate Host and Mac address
3) Open ansyslmd.ini and change host name to current computers's hostname in b
oth the lines
Replace it the file in the path C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Lice
nsing
In Ansys 13, this step will be done in "Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility" form u
nder "Specify the License Server Machine" option
4) Open ansys.dat and change host and 000000000000 to the current computer's H
ost and Mac address

5) Run keygen.bat to create license.dat
6) Copy license.dat to C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v120\fluent\license\
In Ansys 13 C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing
7) Run ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility from start - all programs - Ansys
8) Browse the license file and start server. Select auto startup. Make sure ser
ver is running in task manager.
