AIRPORT PARTS

The tame that we going to give today is about airport parts, and we hope you
understand and enjoy this.
RUNWAY
Is defined rectangular area on a land aerodrome prepared for
the landing and takeoff of aircraft.
Runways are made of surface for asphalt and concrete or a mixture of both, or
a natural surface: Grass-gravel-ice-salt.
RUNWAY MARKINGS
All runway surface markings are painted to provide better definition.
RUNWAY LIGHTS
The Runway Lights are used to outline the edges of runways during periods of
darkness or restricted visibility conditions for the pilot.
RUNWAY DESIGNATOR
The runway designation is located just beyond the threshold marking of each
paved runway. It consists of the two digits and is located relative to the runway
centerline.
PRE-THRESHOLD
This serves to obstacles that are just before the runway for make the beginning
section of runway unsuitable for landings.
AIMING POINT
Markers are two rectangular stripes either side of the runway to indicate where
the aircraft should touchdown.
DE-ICING

snow, ice or frost from a surface for a certain period of time.
PAPI

correct approach in an airport or an aerodrome.
TAXYWAY

A taxiway is a path on
an airport connecting runways with ramps, hangars, terminals and other
facilities.
HIGH SPEED-LOW SPEED
The high-speed taxiway is designed to expedite aircraft turning off the runway
after landing, thus reducing runway occupancy time. The same thing happens
with Low Speed, but in this case the airplanes must go slower.
RAMP-APRON
Is the area of an airport where aircraft are parked, unloaded or loaded,
refueled, or boarded.
