Dear Perkins Students and Families,

It is my privilege and honor to join Ute V. Perkins Elementary School and the Moapa
Valley community as your new principal. Im very passionate about learning and eager
for the opportunity to build upon and refine the proven foundation of hard work, honored
traditions, and continued excellence in education where every student reaches his or her
own potential.
As the parent of two daughters, I recognize the importance of a strong home and
community-school connection. Parents are every childs first teacher and I believe that
by working together, we can make sure your childs needs are met because what
happens during these few short years will have a lasting impression on their future.
As you get to know me, youll discover that I love to spend time getting to know students
and their families, and... I love school... reading, writing, and math. It doesnt matter! I
have been dedicated to the field of education for twenty-two years. Some of my greatest
accomplishments involve working with students, teachers, and parents, to ensure that
students received the best education possible. I have a rich background of experience
that includes teaching multiple grades in elementary school and middle school, and I
have served as a reading improvement teacher, ESL teacher, literacy coach/staff
developer, school improvement facilitator, K-5 assistant principal and Coordinator for
Literacy. In addition, I love to travel and experience new things with my family and
friends.
I look forward to a very positive and productive year together! I extend a special,
yearlong invitation to each family to join us at school activities and events whenever
possible. I want . . . and I value your involvement and support in your childs
education! Your active participation is key to the success of our young Perkins Patriots.
Again, I am delighted to be a part of the wonderful Moapa community . . . a place alive
with energy . . . enthusiasm . . . and a high standard of excellence! It is, indeed, a place
where opportunities abound! Heres to an AWESOME school year as we work together
to make Ute V. Perkins Elementary a great place to be each and every day!
