COMELEC RESOLUTION No.

201603
Reaccreditation of Political Parties
Promulgated: 5 September 2016
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article II, of the 2016 Electoral Code which recognizes the
students rights to form political parties.
WHEREAS, Union of Students for the Advancement of Democracy (USAD) seeks for
their reaccreditation as a political party for the purpose of forwarding timely concerns of the
student body as well as representation in the Sanggunian in line with their ideologies.
WHEREAS, following a notification and approval of change of name from Christian Union
for Socialist and Democratic Advancement (CRUSADA) to Union of Students for the
Advancement of Democracy (USAD) as a result of submission of a document stating so last
August 31, 2016.
WHEREAS, having pointed out that no change in operations and thrusts was made despite
the change of name.
WHEREAS, having appropriately finished the process of reaccreditation by submitting all
necessary documents to the Commission within the set period stated in the COMELEC
Memorandum No. 201644.
NOW THEREFORE, after thorough assessment and due deliberation of all submitted
documents and requirements, Union of Students for the Advancement of Democracy
(USAD) has been duly reaccredited as an official political party in the Sanggunian.
This document shall take effect immediately subsequent to the promulgation of this
resolution.
