Profil Perusahaan
Kompleks pabrik ASC yang terintegrasi dari proses Klor Alkali hingga proses Polivinil Klorida terletak di
Cilegon, Provinsi Banten, Indonesia. Kompleks ini memproduksi bahan-bahan kimia dasar yang sangat
diperlukan oleh banyak industri hilir.
Pada tahun 1986, ASC berdiri sebagai suatu perusahaan multinasional dengan kantor pusat di Jakarta. Pada
tahun 1989 ASC memulai operasinya di kompleks produksi berteknologi mutakhir yang terletak di Provinsi
Banten. Dalam perjalanannya, kompleks produksi tersebut telah mengalami beberapa tahap perluasan
sehingga meningkatkan kapasitas produksinya secara signifikan, dengan total investasi mencapai US$ 545
Juta. Saat ini ASC mengoperasikan fasilitas produksi yang terintegrasi dari Klor Alkali hingga PVC, yang
merupakan salah satu yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara. Dengan fokus untuk melayani kebutuhan industri kimia
dan kebutuhan industri pada umumnya, ASC memiliki kemampuan dan kapasitas untuk memproduksi
Kaustik Soda (Caustic Soda, NaOH), Klorin (Chlorine, Cl2), Natrium Hipoklorit (Sodium Hypochlorite,
NaClO), Asam Klorida (Hydrochloric Acid, HCl), Etilen Diklorida (Ethylene Dichloride, EDC), Monomer
Vinil Klorida (Vinyl Chloride Monomer, VCM) dan Polivinil Klorida (Polyvinyl Chloride, PVC).
Pemegang saham ASC adalah Asahi Glass Company (Jepang), PT Rodamas (Indonesia), Ableman Finance
(British Virgin Islands) dan Mitsubishi Corporation (Jepang).
ASC memiliki tiga jenis pabrik yang dibangun di kompleks produksi yang luasnya mencapai 91 hektar di
Cilegon, Banten, Indonesia. Dioperasikan menggunakan Distributed Control System dan mengikuti standar
operasi terbaik, pabrik-pabrik ini sangat efisien dan menghasilkan produk-produk yang berkualitas tinggi.
ASC memiliki komitmen yang berkelanjutan untuk meminimalisir biaya operasi, meminimalisir emisi karbon
serta terus melakukan perbaikan-perbaikan dengan memanfaatkan pengetahuan dan teknologi terkini.
Proses pertama dari tiga proses yang ada di ASC, yaitu proses Klor Alkali (Chlor Alkali), menghasilkan
kaustik soda (caustic soda) dengan produk sampingan berupa gas klorin (chlorine), gas hidrogen, larutan asam
klorida dan larutan natrium hipoklorit (sodium hypochlorite).
Proses yang kedua, yaitu proses EDC/VCM, menghasilkan monomer vinil klorida (vinyl chloride monomer,
VCM) yang merupakan bahan baku utama dalam proses produksi polivinil klorida (PVC). Dalam proses
EDC/VCM ini, gas klorin yang dihasilkan dari proses Klor Alkali direaksikan dengan etilen (ethylene) untuk
menghasilkan etilen diklorida (Ethylene Dichloride, EDC). Selanjutnya EDC di-cracking untuk
menghasilkan monomer vinil klorida (VCM).
Proses yang ketiga, yaitu proses PVC, menghasilkan polivinil klorida (polyvinyl chloride, PVC) melalui
proses polimerisasi dari VCM.
