Subject: Proposal for IMT Dubai Awards Night

Dear Sir:
As discussed with you, this document contains information and suggestions for
conducting an IMT Dubai Awards Night for DCP farewell event.

PRE-EVENT PREPARATION
1. Selection of venue:
Best option: Announcement of results, speeches and video of memories in the
Auditorium or a booked party hall outside campus. In case of the former, buffet dinner
in the IMT grounds with party music and/or IMT van service at a certain time (say, 8
PM) for those wanting to venture out and party.
2. Formal invitation:
The invitation should contain details of the dress code: Business
Casual/Cocktail/Festive.
3. Farewell Committee:
This temporary committee will be in charge of venue booking/arrangement, festive
decorations, catering and planned execution of the events. It is suggested to have a team
of students with a faculty in-charge. Participation certificates can be provided as an
incentive.

Announcement of first batch of awards (academic)
Students speech personal experiences
Announcement of second batch of awards (extracurricular)
Fun game
Students speech personal experiences

Announcement of mega awards (institutional) given by the Director

5. Prizes:

Certificates of Achievement and Participation.

IMT Memento and/or Medals.
Cash prizes (for Mega Awards, 1st Position Proficiency Prize in Academics and
Sports)

CATEGORY OF AWARDS
Institutional (Mega) Awards:
1. IMT Dubai Student Achiever Award

This award seeks to reward that student who has achieved the most during
his/her time at IMT Dubai. This includes international, inter and intra
collegiate competitions, academic and extracurricular accomplishments etc.

As it is a major award of IMT Dubai, it will only be given on exceptional

achievements of a student. This award may be scrapped altogether for
the year if no student qualifies for the same to maintain its brand
value.
This award will be decided jointly by the Director and the Awards Committee.

2. IMT Dubai Student Contributor Award

At par with the Student Achiever Award, this award seeks to reward the efforts
of a student who has contributed the most to the college through their initiatives
and ideas.

As it is a major award of IMT Dubai, it will only be given on continuous and

value added contributions of a student to the college. This award may be
scrapped altogether for the year if no student qualifies for the same
to maintain its brand value.

This award will be decided jointly by the Director and the Awards Committee.

3. IMT Dubai All Rounder

As the name suggests, this Award will be given for commendable student
achievements in Academia, Sports and Extracurricular activities.

Academic Awards:

1. Proficiency Prize for Excellence in Academics 20XX-20XY

Rewards consistently high performance in academics throughout the year.
Will be given at 3 levels 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize.

2. Proficiency Prize for Excellence in Marketing 20XX-20XY

This will be decided on the basis of overall marks over the course of two Marketing
subjects along with any other extra work in marketing, eg. Research under a mentor
professor.
Given to ONE student.

3. Proficiency Prize for Excellence in Finance 20XX-20XY

This will be decided on the basis of overall marks over the course of three Finance
subjects along with any other extra work in Finance, eg. Research under a mentor
professor.
Given to ONE student.

4. Proficiency Prize for Excellence in Operations & Supply Chain

Management 20XX-20XY

This will be decided on the basis of overall marks over the course of two Operations
subjects along with any other extra work in operations, eg. Research under a mentor
professor.
Given to ONE student.

Extracurricular Awards:

*The Awards below will be jointly decided through overall score given by
faculty and students (70% weightage to Faculty decision and 30%
weightage to Student decisions.)
*To give these Awards, continuous record keeping and faculty assessment
is necessary throughout the year.
*Also, students should be provided the opportunity to compete for the
category in which there is no clear winner. This can happen in situations
where there werent enough events conducted, the faculty is not certain of
making a fair choice etc.

*These will be chosen by the students through a surprise survey at any

point during the last term. The titles will be kept confidential.

REQUIREMENTS:

A dedicated Awards Committee instituted at the beginning of the 1st term

consisting of selected faculty members with the Director as the Head.
Categorizing and dividing the work among faculty members to fix responsibility.
Constant monitoring of performance and efficient record keeping.
Keeping the Student Awards confidential throughout the year.
Keeping the members of the Awards Committee confidential.
Term-wise reports on the progress to be submitted to the Director.
