Course
Description

MA 100 is a one-semester three credit-hours course. This is the first course on

Calculus. Starting from the notion of functions, we will develop the basic
concepts of mathematical analysis, the limit, the derivative and the integral.
Several computational tools will be covered as well. A tentative schedule of
lectures is given on this web site.

To be able to learn the concept of a limit and continuity of a function and

apply it upon various polynomial, root, trigonometric, logarithmic and
exponential functions.
To grasp the concept of derivative of a function and applying different
techniques to differentiate and optimize various functions.
To find an indefinite integral of a given function and to be able to apply it
for finding the areas between the curves and finding the volumes.
