PURPOSE:

The purpose of this technical note is to inform the field of the calibration procedure of a new Patient Table R711
Potentiometer. Follow this procedure if:

The PTH board has been replaced with the New PTH Board Kit P/N SP717542306
You are installing a new Patient Table R711 Potentiometer

After replacement of the PTH board, the reference voltage to the R711 potentiometer is now 5V and not 10V.

Procedure
WARNING
FOLLOW ALL SAFETY GUIDELINES AS DESCRIBED IN CHAPTER 1 OF THE MX8000 IDT SERVICE MANUAL.
FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT IN SEVERE PERSONAL INJURY.
After replacing a faulty horizontal position potentiometer according to Chapter Patient Table ,Section Adjustment of
Potentiometer R711 in the Mx8000 IDT Service Manual, calibrate the new potentiometer as follows:
1. Turn the system ON.
2. Move the tabletop all the way back.
3. Measure the input voltage to the potentiometer between pins 1 (brown)
and 3 (green). The value must measure 5V.
4. Measure the following voltages in this table position:
Between pins 2 (white) and 3 (green) = 4.75V0.2V
Between pins 1(brown) and 2 (white) = 0.24V0.2V

5. If the values do not fall within this range, modify the shaft adjustment on
the new potentiometer to achieve these values. Refer to Chapter
Patient Table ,Section Adjustment of Potentiometer R711 in the
Mx8000 IDT Service Manual.
