ABSTRACT

This is an action research conducted to improve the correct use of simple present tense with the rule of
subject-verb (SV) among Year 5 Cemerlang pupils by using coloured subtitution table and song. The research
was carried out to determine the effectiveness of using Coloured Substitution Table and Song to improve pupils
learning of simple present tense. For this research, several instruments are used to collect data and significant
evidence regarding the effectiveness of the intervention. The data collection methods used in this research are the
questionnaires, observations and document analysis. The data was then analysed to gain the result. The findings
of this research has indicated the effectiveness of the use of coloured substitution table and song. The
correspondents managed to improve the correct use of simple present tense with the rule of subject-verb (SV).
The research can be improved to maximise the understanding of simple present tense for the pupils.

ABSTRAK

Kajian ini merupakan sebuah kajian tindakan yang dijalankan untuk meningkatkan penggunaan simple
present tense dengan peraturan subject-verb (SV) yang betul dalam kalangan murid-murid tahun 5 Cemerlang
dengan penggunaan Jadual Ganti Berwarna dan Lagu. Kajian ini djalankan untuk mengenalpasti keberkesanan
penggunaan Jadual Ganti Berwarna dan Lagu untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran murid dalam penggunaan
simple present tense dengan peraturan subject-verb (SV) . Terdapat beberapa instrumen yang telah digunakan
dalam kajian ini telah digunakan untuk mengumpul data and bukti-bukti yang kukuh mengenai keberkesanan
intervensi yang digunakan. Kaedah pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah borang soal selidik, pemerhatian,
and analisis dokumen. Setelah itu, data yang diambil akan dianalisis untuk mendapatkan keputusan. Dapatan
kajian telah menunjukkan keberkesanan murid terhadap penggunaan simple present tense melalui penggunaan
Jadual Ganti Berwarna dan Lagu. Kajian boleh diperbaiki lagi untuk memaksimumkan kefahaman murid
terhadap penggunaan simple present tense dengan peraturan subject-verb (SV).
