Conse- quently JIS Z 3321 : 1999 is replaced with this Standard. In this revision, welding consumables for SUS304N2 high strength stain- less steel is added. The most recent editions of the standards (including amendments) shall be applied. 8 Classification The rods and wires shall be classified into 20 types given in Table 1. When the product analysis designated by the purchaser is carried out, the toler- ances thereof shall conform to Attached Table 4 specified in JIS G 0321. PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT Z 3321 : 2008 Table 2. These classifications may be expressed as the classification of high Si com- ponent by altering Si content to over 0.65 % up to and including 1.00 %. Further, the classification of high Si component shall be limited to wires only and be marked by appending Si to the symbol for standard classifi- cation (example: Y308L Si). 4.8 Corrosion resistance of deposited metal The copper sulphate-sulphuric acid test (hereafter referred to as “corrosion test”) of the deposited metal, when particularly designated by the purchaser, shall apply only to the classification shown in Table 3. When tested by the method of 7.2, the bent outside surface of the test piece shall be free from intergranular corrosion cracks. PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT 3 23321 : 2003 Table 3. Classification of rods and wires to be applied to corrosion test Classification “Y808L ‘ya1eL ‘Ya16J1L ‘ysi7L ‘yaa ‘yse7 ‘yaa7L 5 Dimensions and tolerances The dimensions and tolerances of rods and wires shall be as follows: a) The dimensions and tolerances of rods shall be in accordance with clause 2 of JIS Z 3200. The representative dimensions are shown in Table 4. The representative diameters are shown in Table 5. Table 5 Representative diameters of wires Unit: mm Diameter | 08 10 12 16 20 24 6 Condition of products The condition of products shall be in accordance with clause 3 of JIS Z 3200. a) The rod shall be a straight rod and the standard mass of unit package shall be 5 kg or 20 kg. The rods shall be bundled in each unit quantity. b) The wires shall be wound around a spool or in a coil form for each unit quan- tity and be produced from the same ingot steel continuously. ©) The standard mass of the wires for the standard spools (S-3 type and S-1 type) shall be as shown in Table 6. 4) The mass of rods and the dimensions and mass of the wires wound around a spool other than the above-mentioned shall be agreed between the purchaser and the manufacturer. ©) The dimensions and mass of wires wound in a coil form shall be agreed between the purchaser and the manufacturer. Sampling method of product analysis shall be in accordance with clause 4 of JIS G 0321. The analysis method shall be in accordance with any one of the following stan- dards. JIS G 1211, JIS G 1212, JIS G 1213, JIS G 1214, JIS G 1215, JIS G 1216, JIS G 1217, JIS G 1218, JIS G 1219, JIS G 1223, JIS G 1237, JIS G 1253, JIS G 1256, JIS G 1257 7.2 Corrosion test of deposited metal The corrosion test of deposited metal shall be carried out as follows: a) b) ©) ‘The test plate used for the corrosion test of deposited metal shall be in accor- dance with Table 7. Table 7 Test plates Classification Test plate ¥s08L, Y316L, ‘Stainless steel plate of JIS G 4304 or JIS G 4305 having ‘Y316J1L, Y317L, _ | the components similar to the deposited metal to be tested. vya21, Ya47, Y847L Remarks: S400 of JIS G 8101, SM400 A to C or SM490 A to C of JIS G 3106 may be used for the test plate. ‘The corrosion test of deposited metal shall be conducted on the rod with the representative diameter of 2.4 mm or 3.2 mm, and on the wire with the repre- sentative diameter of 1.2 mm or 1.6 mm, and further, the welding shall be car- ried out with the flat position. ‘The test material shall be as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 and prepared by groove weld of the test plates. However, where the test plate shown in Remarks of Table 7 is used, two or three layers of buttering shall be conducted using the same welding consumables or the consumables having the same kind of compo- nents as the test welding consumables. Buttering of test plate e) Two corrosion test pieces having not more than 5 mm in thickness, not more than 10 mm in width and 30 mm to 70 mm in length shall be sampled from the test material shown in Fig. 1. f) The corrosion test method of test pieces shall be in accordance with JIS G 0575, 8 Inspection The inspection shall be carried out as follows: a) The appearances, dimensions, chemical composition and results of corrosion re- sistance of the rods and wires shall comply with the specifications of clauses 4, 5 and 6. PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT 6 Z 3821 : 2003 b) Other general matters shall be in accordance with JIS G 0303. 9 Packaging The packaging shall be in accordance with clause 5 of JIS Z 3200. 10 Designation of products ‘The products shall be designated according to the type, diameter and length or mass of rod or wire. The classification of rod shall be marked on the end face or both the end face and side face within 50 mm apart from the end face with colour for identification specified in Table 8, or with the information showing the classification.
