Gauge
Correct gauge is not essential for this project unless you are working with a limited quantity of yarn. Measurements depend on
how strongly you block the whole garment. Also, due to the stitch pattern, your measurements may differ from measurements given above.
If you are a tight knitter, I suggest using a larger needle size.
Notes
Selvedge stitches are included in chart. To avoid loosely worked selvedge stitches give yarn a little tug.
Always purl wrong side rows. Wrong side rows are not shown in chart.
This is a multisize pattern:
To widen the scarf, multiply 6 with the desired number of repeats + 7 stitches.
For example: 6 x 9 repeats = 54 + 7 sts = 61 sts
6 x 6 repeats = 36 + 7 sts = 43 sts
Instructions (charted)
Repeat rows 1 4 of the chart until your garment measures approx. 160 cm (63) or
you reach desired length. Remember that rows 2 and 4 are purl stitches.
WS rows are not shown in the chart.
Row 1 (RS row): k2 [k3, yo, slip1-k2tog-pass slipped stitch over k2tog, yo] 9 times, k5
Row2 (WS row): purl all sts
Row 3 (RS row): k2 [yo, slip1-k2tog-pass slipped stitch over k2tog, yo, k3] 9 times,
yo, sl1-k2tog-psso, yo, k2
Row 4 (WS row): purl all sts
Repeat rows 1 4 until until garment measures approx. 160 cm (63) or you reach
desired length. Bind off loosely. Block stole. Weave in all ends.
