EAP Risk Assessment

Purpose
To identify any changes in the local threat environment that may have an impact on posts
operations and emergency response capability.
Procedure
Under the technical supervision of the Peace Corps Safety and Security Officer
(PCSSO), the Safety and Security Coordinator (SSC) will conduct an Annual Risk
Assessment. The review will consider factors such as:
o Political or social developments and trends
o Environmental hazards and/or risks
o The host countrys capabilities in responding to and managing these events.
Based on the findings of the Annual Risk Assessment, the SSC will provide
recommendations to the CD and PCSSO on any mitigation measures including
adjustments to Post policy, training, site or housing criteria, or other safety support
elements.
Based on the findings of the Annual Risk Assessment, the SSC will update the EAP risk
matrix accordingly.
Under the direction of the CD, the SSC will ensure that findings from the Annual Risk
Assessment are shared with appropriate staff and that any needed changes to posts
communication and evacuation procedures are addressed in a timely fashion.
