The river was a quiet, peaceful place. Water flowed as smooth as silk
and gurgled lightly as it rolled over and around the moss covered rocks. The
bank, made up of thick, spongey mud, was filled with both large and small
pebbles and rocks alike. Higher up on the bank were rows of flowers
scattered about, wafting the smell of summer into the warm air. A large, old,
splintering, bridge extended to each side of the soft brook. Towering high
above the bridge, deep green-leafed dark oaks spread their branches to
protect the ground below from the harsh sun, though letting scattered beams
of light cascade down and bathe the ground below in a warm glow. The air
was warm with the heat of summer and sent a feeling of calm rippling down
the river.
