click. Then there are people
who you think will be good for
each other, but things dont
work out, and its as much of a surprise when that happens and youre left wondering why. In
the case of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, it was easy for them since they were already
friends, given that they are both Kapamilya stars and have the same handler at Star Magic,
but there were other factors that conspired to bring the two of them even closer together.
So the friendship just got deeper and better, says Enrique, and this translated onto the
screen. People saw how they were gradually becoming closer, and it helped make their
chemistry more real, onscreen and off. In a manner of speaking, their chemistry leapt off the
screen and turned their love team into a phenomenon. Based on how things went for them
in Forevermore, Quen is hopeful that with their next project, things will be even better
between him and Liza. Oo naman, I mean, sa tagal namin nag-bonding doon sa Baguio, sa
Forevermore, it just goes deeper and better.
One reason the LizQuen love team is such a hit is because the chemistry is not forced. Quen
says the secret is in trying to not even think about it because thats when it comes out
looking that way. I think the secret to having this chemistry is in not trying to have any
chemistry at all, he says. It just comes naturally. But Liza admits that shes not really a gowith-the-flow type person. Shes more logical and methodical than Quen is in her approach
to not just her friendships or relationships, but especially in terms of her career. She has set
rules for herself that she tries to follow religiously. Ako, kabaligtaran niya (Quen), says Liza.
I tend to overthink, so ako yung hard on myself. Kasi I get scared that one day, I wont be
as good as my last show. Gusto ko, every show, may bago. I just want that the management
will see more potential in me, that I can do other things, parang ganoon po.
How easy we have it sometimes no? When I was shooting sa construction, nakikita ko na
yung iba tinuturan mag-welding, mag-ganyan. You know you see all these establishments
and how hard these People around them are betting that their new show will become just as
big a hit as the last one, and that their natural chemistry will again prove why theirs is such
a winning tandem.
