Santiago de Chile is located in South America and is the capital of Chile and its
largest city. Due to Chiles economic growth during the past decades Santiago has
become one of Latin Americas most modern cities. Its urban area or Greater
Santiago includes the Commune of Santiago
Today the capital of Chile is a world class city with a cosmopolitan culture and
modern telecommunications networks; it is the nations business, political, cultural,
entertainment and educational center. The landscape of its financial center is filled
with skyscrapers where many multinationals and banks have established their
regional headquarters.
London: The country of the United Kingdom of Great Britain is made up of four
separate and distinct countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Sometimes people say Britain when they mean Great Britain. Britain only refers to
England and Wales. The English often refer to themselves as British, whereas
someone from Scotland or Wales will generally refer to themselves as Scottish or
Welsh respectively.
English is the main language spoken throughout the country though in Wales,
Welsh is the official Celtic language spoken and in Scotland, there are two
additional official languages- Gaelic & Scots. It is not uncommon to hear a variety
of local accents. Distinct accents are a way of distinguishing a geographic location;
For example, Geordies are in north England vs Cockneys who reside in London.

Cultural activities

Music:
Santiago: The national dance is the cueca. Another form of traditional Chilean
song, though not a dance, is the tonada. it is distinguished from the cueca by an
intermediate melodic section and a more prominent melody.
London: Morris dance is a form of English folk dance usually accompanied by
music. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures
by a group of dancers, usually wearing bell pads on their shins. Implements such
as sticks, swords and handkerchiefs may also be wielded by the dancers.
Emblematic place:
Santiago: Valle Nevado is a ski resort located 46 kilometers east of Santiago,
capital of Chile. It was created in 1988 by French entrepreneurs, following the

pattern of the winter resorts los Alpes, on the slopes of Cerro El Plomo in the
Andes near Santiago.
London: The Big Ben has become a symbol of the United Kingdom, particularly in
the visual media. When a television or film-maker wishes to indicate a generic
location in the country, a popular way to do so is to show an image of the tower,
often with a red double-decker bus or black cab in the foreground. The sound of
the clock chiming has also been used this way in audio media, but as
the Westminster Quarters are heard from other clocks and other devices, the
unique nature of this sound has been considerably diluted.

Social Etiquette:
Santiago de Chile: Men will usually shake hands. Women generally pat each other
on the right forearm or shoulder. These are always accompanied by the
appropriate greeting for the time of day - "buenos dias" (good morning), "buenas
tardes" (good afternoon) or "buenas noches"(good evening). Between friends and
family things will relax and become more unreserved - men may embrace and
energetically pat each other on the back whilst women will kiss once on the right
cheek. First names are used between close friends - wait until invited to move to a
first name basis.
London: A considerable amount of value is placed on punctuality, thus it is
important to arrive on time to meetings, class, etc. Standing in line, or queuing, is a
common occurrence as it adhered to as people patiently wait for their turn. When
riding escalators stand still on the right so others may pass on the left. Basic
politeness, things such as using please, thank you, excuse me, and shaking hands
upon greeting is expected. Avoid drawing attention to yourself by being loud and
obnoxious in public, especially when using public transportation.

Sport
Santiago: Football is the most popular sport in Chile, and practiced by Chileans
from all economic backgrounds, it is the one sport that appeals to both young and
old that is the most accessible. Located throughout Chile are football stadiums
such as Estadio Nacional de Chile located in Santiago, and where the final of
the 1962 FIFA World Cup was held.
London: The most popular sport in the U.K. is cricket. Other popular sports include
rugby, rowing, horse racing, soccer, tennis and golf all of which were originated or
were largely developed in the U.K. In international competitions there is usually a

team to represent each England, Scotland and Wales instead of them being
combined as one Great Britain team. Cricket is a game of bat and is played
between two teams of 11 players ball. Each takes turns to bat and score runs.

Sport Places:

Santiago: National Stadium Chile is the main sports arena. The National Stadium is
an area of great historical value since it opened in 1938. It is the second stage that
has hosted more finals of Libertadores Cup in its history and it is also the most
capped trophy major tournament gave eight times also it is with La Bombonera
Stadium where the Copa Sudamericana surrendered more times, twice, and one in
which more editions have been played Copa America; all this makes the stadium
one of the historical stages of South American football.

London: Chelsea Football Club: This is one of the biggest stadiums London
football. The tour also includes admission to The Chelsea Museum. A museum
traces the history of this club more than a century. There, visitors can find items,
shirts and other items to make the team and its followers.
World Rugby Museum: provides the ability to access the history of rugby in the
country and in general through videos and photographs.
Wimbledon Lawn Tennis: the visit is "an impressive tour multidimensional
traditions, triumphs, sights and sounds that have made Wimbledon the most
coveted title of world tennis."

Gastronomy

London: The pub, or public house, is an important part of British life. The pub is
where the community gathers to eat, drink, and gather. It is typical to order both
food and drink directly at the bar, as most pubs do not offer table service. The
combination of cultures throughout Britain has led to an increase in the culinary
culture. The typical British dish no longer consists of meat and vegetables or the
infamous fish and chips, but has come to include, the growing in popularity, curry.

this traditional British dish is on the top of any foodie list for visitors to London and
the U.K. Although fish & chips is best eaten on the seaside (think Brighton,
Blackpool or Whitby) it is possible to get great fish & chips in London. Fish & chips
is traditionally eaten with mushy peas and garnished with salt and vinegar!
Apple pie: This is one of the most traditional English dessert made of apple and

Santiago: Chilean cuisine varies depending where you are, because of its
ecological and climatic diversity there is a great variety of products available in
different regions. All the different regional cuisines are a combination of traditional
native Chilean dishes and ingredients, European and in a lesser extent Middle
Eastern influences, creating the Chilean Creole cuisine. Three distinct cuisines can
be distinguished; the cuisine of the North, Central and South.
Pastel de choclo is one of the most popular comfort foods in Chile. This dish is
made of ground corn or choclo mixed with ground beef, chicken, onions, black
olives, pieces of hard boiled eggs and spices and covered with a corn dough that
crusts when baked. It is traditionally baked in an earthenware bowl called paila.
