REACTION PAPER

The movie started with a narrator with his introductions about our national hero
quoting his famous line Ang taong di marunong magmahal sa sariling wika, ay higit pa
ang amoy sa malansang isda.
Here are some of the sections shown in the movie which made things easier to
understand. There were narrarations, pictures and short drama clips.
Ang Batang si Moy Mercado, this sections talks about how Rizal came to the world and
his upbringing when he was a child.
Jose Rizal Mercado: Atenistang Probinsyano, this sections talk about Rizals life while he
was studying at Ateneo and University of Sto. Tomas. Also where Rizals first love was
shown.
Patungo sa Liwanag ng Dunong at Daigdig, this is where Rizals journey outside the
Philippines was stated. How he didnt say anything to his parents and some of his siblings
regarding his leave towards Europe.
Ang lakbayin patungo sa ligalig, Rizal returned to Philippines but when he was accused
of many ridiculous thing and was told to escape Philippines once again.
Dapithapon at Dilim, he once again returned to Philippines where he knows that the
country he loves is where he will meet his death.
After watching this movie, it made me realize that life will never be fair. No matter
how you struggle after a problem and managed to go through it, another one will always
come up to you in speed. One should truly care for his family and friends. Hardships,
challenges, difficulties- they are always present in life and the only thing we can do about
it is to strive for the best, just like how Rizal did his best despite knowing the harsh end
he will have.
Jose Rizal is brave, intelligent, studious, hardworking, loyal to our motherland and
most of all kindhearted.. He is an individual who knows the path he will truly take despite
all the hurtful things that happened to him. I am amazed by his strong spirit of not giving
up, always looking for hope among the dark mist. And no matter how badly treated he
was at his time, he is truly a man worth the title of the National Hero of the Philippines!
