The Salman field is located some 144km south of Lavan Island in Iranian waters of the Persian Gulf. The Salman Oil & Gas Field Integrated Development project is intended to expand the current oil production and exploitation of the gas and condensate reservoir located in the Dalan Complex. The project foresees the construction of up to seven new platforms at or near the existing Salman complex together with infield pipelines. The current extent of LIKPIN pipe lay includes the following pipelines : + Ten 4" gas lift pipelines from the new Salman GLP platform to designated tripods * Eleven 8" & 10” oil pipelines from designated existing tripods to a new Riser platform Salman PP3 * One 6” gas condensate pipeline from Dalan KPP to the new Salman PP3 riser platform * One 14” gas pipeline from the new Salman KPP platform to the new Dalan GLP platform LIKPIN SS LIKPIN Project No. LIKPIN Document No. ‘SALMAN 2003-1000 LK-SL2003/1000-PR-PL-9102 Be PETROIRAN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY SALMAN OFFSHORE FACILITIES c ( EPC-3 ) . Site conditions often cause changes in the work plans and as such, contractor reserves the right to utilize / alter plans to expedite the work in order to best suit the site conditions and safety of personnel and equipment at site. The Company representative in the field will be informed of any deviations from the procedure / schedule and the reasons for deviation, prior to any implementation of the changes 3.0 SCOPE The scope represented within this procedure includes all activities required for the safe correction of free spans for Infield Pipelines of the Salman Oil & Gas Integrated Development EPC3 project. The scope shall be carried out in compliance with DNV OS F101 Rules for submarine pipeline systems and local marine safety regulations. The current extent of LIKPIN pipe lay includes the following pipelines : «Ten 4” gas lift pipelines from the new Salman GLP platform to designated tripods «Eleven 8” & 10" oil pipelines from designated existing tripods to a new Riser platform Salman PP3 * One 6” gas condensate pipeline from Dalan KPP to the new Salman PP3 riser platform * One 14” gas pipeline from the new Salman KPP platform to the new Dalan KPP platform LIKPIN Project No. | LIKPIN LIKPIN Document No. = ‘SALMAN 2003-1000 | LK-SL2003/1000-PR-PL-9102 & PETROIRAN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY RRs SALMAN OFFSHORE FACILITIES NLO.C. All free spans will be identified at this time. The ROV will measure the free span and the location is recorded. Where pipeline crossings create free-spans these will be logged for correction. Where pipe crossings on the identified route are elevated, the lay route will be adjusted during pipe lay to cross existing lines at lower level (at touch down). This normally only requires a deviation of approx 30m. These deviations will be monitored by ROV. The instances of elevated crossings have been identified during the Pre-lay Survey. Elevated crossings are limited to 4" lines only, which are sufficiently flexible to allow re-alignment during pipe lay. The log of free spans will be agreed between the surveyor and the Company Representative. Refer to Pipe Lay Procedures. FREE SPAN LOCATION Navigation and positioning within the field will be carried out to the highest level of accuracy using Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS). In addition, a secondary dual frequency GPS will be employed. Refer to Barge Positioning Systems Procedure SL430-0000-PR-ST-6001 With reference to the free span records obtained during the pipe lay, a Diving Support vessel will be deployed to each free span site. Correct positioning and location will be agreed with the Company Representative. FREE SPAN CORRECTION The Diving Support Vessel, complete with grout spread, visits each free span location and diver is deployed. Refer fo Diving Procedures (infield pipelines) SL430-0000-PR-ST-6004. The diver will re-measure length and height of free span. Following confirmation that the free span is in excess of maximum allowable span. Preparations will commenes to correct. All pipe crossing sites will be visited and the ROV will measure the distance from crossing support to touch down. If this distance is in excess of maximum free-span allowable, additional free-span supports will be installed. Using an ‘A’ frame lifting tripod, positioned at the support point, the diver will lift the pipe by a further minimum height, sufficient to insert grout bag and temporary support. When grout bag is filled the pipe will be lowered on to the support. The advantage of this method is that the height lift of the new pipeline can be kept to a minimum and the lifting of the pipe can be closely controlled, therefore reducing risk of overstress. Refer to Lift and Shift and Handling Analysis SL430-0000-AN-PL-6004 The correctly sized grout bag(s) are identified and lowered down to the diver from DSV winch. The grout bags are spread out and placed, as required, to form supports under the new pipe. On notice from the diver the grout hose is lowered from the DSV. Diver to position and secure each formwork bag under the pipeline on natural seabed with the pipeline’s orientation being perpendicular to the grout bag. Divers secure straps provided on top of bag as installation aid which secures formwork bag onto the pipeline at their appropriate locations Once firmly secured on pipeline with straps, divers cut ropes releasing the neatly folded formwork bag and spreading it out on both sides of the pipe. Comers are weighed down to keep in place. Diver locates inlet connection on formwork for quick connecting grout hose end connection and visually inspects for defects. Deck Crew onboard DSV shall connect the grout hose fittings up to equipment on deck (to be done ahead of time). Crane or a tugger shall lower grout hose to diver on down line and messenger. Diver shall insert the grout hose into the inlet provided on formwork support bag. Diver shall ensure that the bleed hoses are open (i.e. not bent over) and shall inform the Dive Supervisor when everything is ready to commence grouting operations. Dive Supervisor will inform Grouting Crew to commence pumping grout. Whilst the grout is being pumped into the bag, the diver shall monitor the bag so as to ensure proper filling and reduce the possibility of air entrapment. Once a steady flow of uninterrupted grout is observed to be coming from the bleed valve, diver shall inform supervisor who will then inform the grouting technician. Grout technician will circulate water through the hose to avoid blockage in the event there is no more grouting remaining for this location. Diver to confirm discharge from hose end does not contain grout. On confirmation from diver, grouting technician stops the water flow and vessel crew recovers hose to surface. NOTE: It is preferable that all bags shall be placed around pipeline prior to commencement of grouting. Diver shall fill all bags in succession in order of convenience. Diver lowers the pipe to ensure that bottom of grout bag is firmly resting on seabed with its top saddle firm against the pipeline. Grout bags will provide permanent support for the pipeline. Details of the Grout bags are included within Appendix 1. Diver removes lifting frame and sends to surface. Post installation as-built survey will be completed following completion of all pipe line related activities. Reports will include location and type of formwork support bag utilized. This has been success- fal and without any failure or inherent problems. > TYPICAL MIX DESIGNS: APPLICATION Ea Pipeline protection ‘Weight coating DENSITY Lbs,/US.Gal Subject to Recomendation ‘The normal method of achieving a quick test of the mixed grout material prior to pumping is, ‘by use of a mud balance which produces a result in SPECIFIC GRAVITY.
