SAMPLE HAIKU ( Japanese

short poems)
An old silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond,
splash! Silence again.

As the wind does blow

Across the trees, I see the
Buds blooming in May

I hear crackling sound

Crunch, of todays new found
day
And know it wont last

I walk across sand

And find myself blistering
In the hot, hot heat

Its coldand I wait

For someone to shelter me
And take me from here.
Here in the garden
Wagtail sings his happy song
He is so joyful.

A cricket disturbed
the sleeping child; on the
porch
a man smoked and smiled.

When summer sun seeps

Lily of the valley sleeps
Rise in the midnight

The talk of the town

Whispers of wild affairs
Tulips are silenced

Summers sensations
Promising pastel colors
Cozy carnations

The sun sets slowly

Colors of the summer sky
Spacious and holy
Oh, such loveliness
How the roses smell so sweet
So many colours.
