ELA 7th Grade Contract

PROJECTS
o Late projects: 5 points everyday it is late will not be accepted after 7 days.
o Students will be given class time to work on their projects.
TESTS
o Will be given monthly after completion of unit of study.
o They will be announced one week in advance and will be given a review sheet.
o Students will use their notebooks, quizzes and homework/class work to prepare.
QUIZZES
o Vocabulary quizzes will be given every other week (dates may vary).
o Grammar quizzes will be given every other week (dates may vary).
ASSESSMENTS
o Writing on demand at the end of writing units (not graded).
o On going running records (not graded).
o End of quarter writing, reading, vocabulary and grammar assessment (graded as a
test)
HOMEWORK
o Is assigned every night Monday Friday.
o Is worth 2 points (if collected).
o Will always be accepted with parent note.
o If a student is absent, they must complete the work and it must be shown to the
teacher one day after the day(s) they were absent
CLASSWORK
o Students earn points for class work (points will vary)
PORTFOLIOS...
o Each student compiles their best work into a portfolio (quarterly & is graded)
o Portfolio work is grouped by quarter and kept in the classroom
