One of the major fear of our founding fathers was that the central government get

too much power. Seeing the British government obtain too much power therefore
become dictatorship, so our founding fathers did not want to follow the same path
with British because the purpose of the Union was work together as a nation.
Understand that when the government has absolute power, the power shall have
corrupted and it will lead to another Revolutionary, the Constitution therefore was
established with check and balances system which created three branches of the
government. The other fear that our founding fathers had was a weak central
government. All states were connected together by the central government, but
under the Article of Confederation, Congress had little power over states and could
not maintain army, regulate trade, and taxes therefore our founding fathers feared
that the union was too weak and unable to defend itself, and if somethings happen
the young nation would be tear apart easily. The Shays Rebellion played a major
role in the establishment of the Constitution since it provoked our founding fathers
fear. Acknowledge the necessary of strong central government, the Constitution was
introduced on September 17, 1787.
In my opinion, I think our founding fathers were concerned because the United
States just gained their independent from Great Britain, and the union can be tear
apart easily if they make mistakes. I believe these fears were justified because the
United States just escaped from the Britishs government, so they would not want to
form the same structure of government as the British. Also, Shays Rebellion was a
factor that justified our founding fathers fear of a weak central government.
