I had never really thought of it from this perspective. Normally I would only think about the positive of
knowing more than one language but losing it would be such a loss for part of your identity.

I like the idea of getting the student involved in changing the usual pattern because when both parties
are invested way more progress is achieved.

How do you have this work with a student who is less physically resistant and more mentally
manipulative in refusing to learn? Like finding ways to stay off topic or keep the teacher so focused on
an issue that class doesn't move forward?

How do you reach a student who has created such an intriquete design in logic mapping so that they
don't learn something? It seems like it'd almost be a crazy game of chess moves.

This would be very challenging for a teacher to try and work with and reach out to the student about.
Maybe find points they agree on and then work why they don't agree on others to show both sides to
the class.
