Secondary African American History

Lesson Objections:
-Recognize contributions made by African Americans to American life and
society.
-Defend ideas and assertions with factual research.
-Write a well-organized description of African Americans contributions to
American life and society.
-Create monuments honouring African Americans and their contributions.
Material: PowerPoint, Personal White Boards, and markers.
Previous Knowledge- Two classes before this lesson I will have the each students
write a list of the Jobs, and Skills where they believe black people are
underrepresented in and would like to learn more information about Black people
in these fields. I would then take the list and make a PowerPoint that focuses on
the students interest.
