Music Videos Shot Analysis
I have studied the camera shots featured within Blue Jeans by Lana Del Rey
and Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paloma Faith, both of which are similar in
genre to Devil Side by Foxes.

At the end of the music video, there is a
collection of birds-eye shots showing
the final scene. From this angle the
audience sees a completely different
view, showing everything within one
frame.

There is also a repeated over-the-shoulder shot where the artist is looking into a
mirror. This allows for the audience to identify with the artist on a more personal
level.
Later on in the video shows both high and low angled shots. The high angle shot
shows inferiority whereas the low angle shot shows the opposite of superiority.
This suggests the status and importance of the characters within the video and
reinforces the message behind the lyrics of the song.
For this scene, a master shot is used to establish the situation between the two
characters. This means that the audience can piece together later shots of
close-ups and distorted angles.
Towards the end of the video, there are some final wide shots. These terminate
the details if the video and leave the audience with the end result of the song.
